I told everyone El Venado Lopez would crush Mick Conlan like a soda can. Instead of watching this, I watched Lara sleepwalk for twelve rounds. I feel like an idiot.

I mean he was a highly decorated amateur and he could've boxed more efficiently I'm not sure why he thought he became a power puncher.

Not me. I predicted this out ome for months on Facebook. El Venado Lopez was crushing guys at 130 before he won the featherweight title.

Yeah gotcha. Maybe it's just an Irish 'revert to type' thing like Ward, Lee etc

Props to conlan for actually trying to have a entertaining fight with Lopez probably shouldn't of done that tho because he didn't have the power to really put a dent in him an Lopez hurt him a good few times before he knocked him out. Should of really tried to box in there but Lopez is a good fighter powerful an he can box aswell not like Lara who does have power but boxing wise hes got not much going on

Conlan/Lopez and Lara/Wood didn't happen simultaneously though. I had all three cards on, which is maniacal lol

Ridiculous having 3 different cards on at the same time :/

I got to see CBS win an absolutely ugly fight, Conlan get knocked into another dimension, and Wood put on a boxing lesson. The funny thing is...I told myself I wasn't gonna tune in to Okolie/CBS, but Conlan/Lopez ended very early. I originally had the SKY card on only to watch Eggington's fight.

Yes I think Top Rank quickly realized that Conlan was a limited professional and decided to progress his career very slowly, keep him undefeated for awhile and hype up the Olympic middle finger to the judges- hence the Nikitin revenge fight. Not sure where Conlan's career goes from here. He just doen't have enough pop in his punches to get respect from championship-level fights and although he has amateur pedigree, he still gets hit a lot.
