They tried to hurt Cotto with the weight but Cotto didn't let them. They will fight at 145 which is only 1 lb. less than Cotto weighed-in against Clottey.

No body wanted to hurt Cotto at 145lbs! Cotto fought with Clottey at 146lbs on scale and Roach, Pac and everybody (except you?) knows that 145 is just within his reach and would not be dehydrated! But if anyone would be hurt, will be Pac! from 135lbs and fought only once at 145lbs then another at 140lbs, sure he will not be climatized by that 145lbs weight! So there is no excuses from Cotto if his ass will be KOed by Pac!

But I believe, though Pac is just considered stranger to the catcweight, IMO, 145lbs is the maximum best of Pac and still more than capable to upset the best WBO champ. Floyd Jr knows this actually that's why he's anticipating Pac as his next opponent. Let's see come fight night!

I beleive Boxeo Boricua was referring to the fact that Pacman's team initially wanted the fight at 143 and Cotto didn't allow it. He beleives that 145 won't harm Cotto.

There should be no excuses from Cotto's side if he loses, I agree with that bit there should be noe excuses from Pacman either. Roach has publically sadi that Manny can't go under 140 no more and while it is obvious that Cotto will be more heavier and probably have more power, Pacman will have other advantages come fight night that will make the fight even and in most of the experts eyes and the odds are in favor of Pacman at this point.

But like you said Let's see come fight night. I just hope that the fight lives to the hype and expectation created and you never know, if it is so good we might even be screaming for a rematch.

While I don't think Manny will KO Cotto, it's good to hear that camp is going well. I mean, I'm assuming it is with this prediction and the way he's changed his mind. If Pac is gonna come out guns blazing primarily to the body, I'm sure Cotto will meet him head on. This is without a doubt the greatest matchup of 2009. What a great way to end the year.

One of pacman's sparmate is a junior middleweight in Porter. Maybe roach is seeing that pacman can handle the punch of a junior middleweight with ease raising his confidence that pacman can also handle the punches of welterweight cotto. If that's the case, pacman's chances of KOing cotto will even be higher.

Sparring is one thing, fighting in the actual fight is another. Sparring partners gets you in condition for timing, accuracy, stamina and distance, it does not improve your chin.
