Also gotta love how social media call outs and negotiations are laughed off, never ever to be taken seriously,

except the one Wilder did with a 24hr deadline, the one where no contract would be sent, no meetings would be held unless AJ spoke a specific set of words, now that there is an offer that isn’t dodgy sounding whatsoever.

Instead he tried to cherry pick Tyson Fury and it cost him his spot.
Great observation! Wilder figured he could beat a depressed, overweight, drug & alcohol abuser. But all he did was expose his own lack of skill.

        Deontay Wilder.

It came out his own mouth, the AJ running from Wilder myth has been busted, I know it must sting but suck it up.
We all knew that. Wilder was making all kinds of excuses for not fighting AJ: Wanting to see the books, demanding to know AJ's cut, talking about "loyalty" to Al Haymon. Oh, and the honoring his deal with Fury thing. Of course, that was a cherry pick with the lineal champ gone wrong. The truth is, Joshua was KO'ing the competition & was extremely confident back then, and Wilder wanted nothing to do with him.

Different eras, would have been nothing but an old versus young, passing of the tourch contest; with certainty. Either Klitschko would have gotten Nailed with the bomb and taken out clean by Wilder - Any version of Either one. Wilder's only competitor post Lennox Lewis would be Tyson Fury, and even that, only by a thin wisker. Wilder fought 2-2-1 against Luis Ortiz and Tyson Fury, and "ducked" WHO now?

          Lol.

Or....maybe he just wanted a crack at the heavyweight champion of the World? It's the highest aspiration of any athlete, and one that Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua have never shown the sand for.

Along those lines, why didn't he take a crack at Joshua? He may have been the first to expose him instead of Ruiz and become the unified HW champion of the world. If Ruiz could drop Joshua, Wilder could have laid him out. And please no excuses. We both know that if Deontay really wanted Anthony, he would have hammered out a deal with Hearn and DAZN to get him.

Word is, Wlad hurt Wilder badly in sparring. Everyone knows that. The green, limited-skilled Deontay wanted no part of Dr. Iron Hammer in an actual fight.
