Damn, Lara came in HUGE. I really want to see this fight, but it might be dangerous for Wood, so I'll understand if they cancel it or put him in with a late sub. Lara definitely needs to go to 130 after this

This rematch is happening only three months after the first one. Maybe Lara had too long a vacation, and didn't get back in the gym soon enough to give himself enough time to properly lose weight.

This is a weird situation. Typically, the person who has the hardest weight-cut is most likely to lose. However, the BBBoC kinda prevented Lara from having the hardest weight-cut he could possibly have.

Now more than ever, Wood needs to box SMART. Lara may start fast and try to get an early stoppage, so Wood's jab is gonna be very important.

"A weight check during fight week prompted the British Boxing Board of Control to deem it unsafe for Lara to attempt to make the 126-pound featherweight limit on Friday."

I was reading the article and that made me question why did Lara not ignore the BBoC and try to make the weight anyways?

I know the WBC has the 30 and 7 day max weight allowed, but from what I know the WBA does not.

This is silly, If Lara could make weight on the day of the weigh in he should have been allowed.

Some fighters lose 15 + pounds over night.

They just made it that much harder for Woord to win.

Wood's the taller man, so I'm sure he had to work hard to cut weight. Meanwhile, Lara is coming in at what is likely full strength. It's dangerous for Wood to move forward with this fight.

I know what you're saying, but it's still funny to hear you refer to 129.5lbs as "HUGE".

Lara needs to put a beating on wood then move the fk up. If team wood decided to proceed with the bout risk on them. I guess they feeling confident can win belt and not throwing all training camp efforts down the drain just because Lara irresponsibly missed weight ,Understandable.
