Another fight, another issue with fighters weighing in.
I used to be the only poster on these forums, campaigning to bring back the 'Same day weigh in rule'.
But? I have seen of late more people sharing this viewpoint of mine.
For as long as the day before weigh in rule is being used 'Fighters will continue to weight drain themselves extensively, or gain some sort of edge'.
Boxing in the lower weight divisions definitely needs to revise it's weigh in rules. Whether this be inducting the 'Same day weigh in rule once again' or further altering the existing rules.
Lara was not given the opportunity to make the weight, and defend his titles 'But he put himself in this position, due to the toxic culture in boxing of weight draining'.
I am neutral on the fight, not really invested. I was mainly more intrigued by the issue's surrounding the weigh in.
It is controversial to be carrying on with the fight. Both fighters are not fighting under the same conditions 'Training and making the weight is part of the fight' etc.
