So before the fight Shakur was like Haney smokes Loma and he is saying Loma beat Haney. Even Chameleons would be embarrassed

Haney was giving as good as he got and was winning the fight up until he got tired in the ninth round because he stopped throwing punches. Had Haney never punched himself out he would have won that damn fight by a landslide.

Cutting all that weight down to 135 has now finally taken its toll on his body. He must move up to 140 now. He has nothing left to prove at 135 anymore. He just defeated a P4P fighter, a legend and all-time great.

Because Haney has way longer arms and was probably two divisions heavier. I believe whith 36 hours Haney rehydrate to 155/157 while Loma was probably 145 on fight night. Heavier, longer, fresher, bigger.

Loma is more skilled but Haney is no slouch.

Haney is not puncher but his punches keep his opponents aware.

Dave Moretti's absurd scoring in this fight was SHOUTED DOWN and BOODED by a pro-Devin Haney home town Las Vegas crowd.

The short answer was “loma was just wasn’t good enough to outclass Haney”. All the excuses are blah blah. Haney didn’t use his height nor reach advantages. He allowed Loma to close the distance early on and didn’t bully Loma with his weight.

I’ve been told by the media that Loma is one of the most skilled fighters ever and maybe the best p4p fighter of his generation. I’ve yet to see it

The only reason I compare Loma with Floyd is because that’s the kind of hype he’s been getting undeservedly. I didn’t say that weight doesn’t matter. I asked why Loma couldn’t overcome the weight disadvantage with his skills advantage if he’s as good as the hype. It was a rhetorical question. The answer is he’s never been as good as the hype. It was a close fight but skill wise I wasn’t impressed by either guy.
I am not a fanboy. I don’t put Loma in the same category as Floyd. He isn’t that far tho. Salido fight was dirty and the bad ref made a difference. With Teo it I scored it 7-5 for Loma w Loma again winning his rounds more clearly. If this fight had fair scoring and he won all three of these close fights he would be considered ATG. As he should with his movement and skills. Floyd got 2-3 close decisions going his way and if he didn’t he wouldn’t be considered as great EVEN THO his skills were exactly the same. So I don’t look at only records but the actual fights. Loma is an exceptional fighter and if he was American the hype would be thru the roof and his record would still have the 0. To me it makes zero difference that he got robbed in where I rank him.

But what did you mean then that ”nobody would’ve used weight as an excuse”? You agreed his fans would’ve.
