all these 'close fights' got awarded the same way, every time the american fighter gets the decision, every time without fail.... haney should have lost that fight on the cardsComment

I had Haney winning about 7 - 5. Loma just didn't do enough in the first half of the fight, was fighting in short bursts and would have moments of success here and there but not enough to win the rounds. He picked it up in the 9th and also won the 10 and 11th but it felt like it was his last big push and he left it too late, almost like he did against Teo. He lost the 12th clearly and that round resembled a lot of the earlier rounds: Haney having success with the jab, consistently landing to the body and successfully countering any of Loma's work.
Loma did enough to be competitive but not to win the fight. If people think this is even close to being a robbery then there are plenty of real robberies in the history of this sport that'll have you absolutely losing your mind. Good win for Haney, judges did well too.Comment

Lomas style won't age as well as hopkins and he will be finished in the next year or two as he's already lost a step or two in his past few fightsCanelo lost almost every round to Mayweather but his body punches were still impressive. But if body punches are the only argument for Haney winning the fight, i get why the fight is controversial. Like i said, i need to watch it before judging but i'm glad Lomachenko is still in the mix, it means he is still dangerous for anyone at 135 including Tank. hopkins fought until he was 50, 35 can be still a good age for an athlete if he is emotionally stable and lives a healthy life.Comment

thats the thing though everyone knew haney was going to get the decision as the great american hope, i didnt even bother watching them announce the cards. its the same thing as when you are fighting canelo unless you win pretty much every round very clearly you arent getting the decision which sucksI had Haney winning about 7 - 5. I don’t really care who wins but scoring this now it was a draw ..to much emotion involved if this guy won that rnd , that guy won this…….
The truth is Haney had control of the first half of the fight losing just round 1 . Loma came back on him taking over the rounds after rnd 6 . Most think Loma won because most fans remember how a fight is finished not started . Haney landed the harder jabs , body shots and walked Loma into counter shots the commentary mostly ignored .
I don’t even think Haney won t round 12 because Loma landed the cleaner up top shots and pressed the round so most git that wrong to . You HAVE to count solid body shots over short periods of non power flurry’s Loma was throwing that gut the crowd excited. Loma DID have the clearer rounds of 10 and 11 won but that is just rounds won not the fight .
The correct score is 6/6 . No robbery occurred it’s all emotions as usual . LolLast edited by juggernaut666; 05-21-2023, 11:21 AM.Comment
