Comments Thread For: Lomachenko: I Still Have My Speed, My Power, My Conditioning!

Vasiliy Lomachenko was adamant about becoming a champion specifically at the 135-pound limit. The three-division champion from Ukraine said he was encouraged to drop back down in weight after his lightweight title unification loss to Teofimo Lopez in 2020. But Lomachenko, who started his career fighting in the 126-pound ranks, found such a move ultimately cowardly.

I believe Lomachenko puts on a masterful performance tonight and takes Haney to school

Very insightful comment by Breadman. Sometimes you like a guy that has only one tool in his toolbox, for you know he is going to get it out & use it well. Haney is going to move behind his left jab, I would still rather have a guy that has a full tool-box, which Loma has, imo. Loma has a lot more tools, & he may struggle, at first, to work out which he needs, but, imo, he will work it out. I see Loma coming on down the stretch. He might be, like 5 rounds behind after 7, but I honestly see Loma coming on in the championship rounds.

Smaller fighters age substantially quicker than larger ,I wouldn't be surprised if loma has lost another step since his last outing

That being said i do hope he can shut huggie haney up and retire happy

Who knows. He might be more similar to Duran than the other fighters you're thinking of.
