Boxing history always repeats itself. Derrick James is now the trainer of the moment, like Freddie Roach, Virgil Hunter, Abel Sanchez and many others before him.

Ryan could bring cuz d'amato back from the dead to train him, he'd still be the same fighter, he needs real discipline aside from better fundamentals and lot work on techniques.

Nothing will change with James imo.

It almost feels as if he was going to go with Reynoso, but Reynoso and Canelo gave him tough love and were telling him what he didn’t want to hear, so he went with James instead.

That being said, he’ll get world class sparring with urban style fighters in the James camp, and that could help build him toward a Davis rematch.

I fxck with Ryan now. He's on the winning team.

No but for real. Derrick James is a solid coach. I'm not sure how Ryan fits into that camp's style of fighters. Charlos don't fight too different than Spence. Ryan fights very different than all of them but if anyone can fix up Ryan it would be Derrick. That's a coach that knows boxing. Makes things real simple for his guys.
James only got spence now. AJ and princess Ry reclamation gonna hurt his rep

I like the choice, solid trainer, but ultimately it's going to be up to Ryan

Joshua won 95% of the rounds vs Franklin. Joshua was never hurt or looked in threat of losing the fight.

Garcia really stylistically, should of been able to win rounds vs Tank Davis 'But he struggled to even achieve that'.

I understand that people may want to see knock-outs, or brutal fights 'But boxing at times is about efficiency'.

Joshua's performance and win vs Franklin was a efficient performance 'Nothing great, but it was a straight forward win nevertheless'.

No unnecessary moves were made by Joshua, and he just racked up the rounds.

Garcia is going to have to add that kind of dimension to his game, especially if he is moving up in weight class at some stage etc.

Note: That is a really good stable, Spence Junior, Charlo, Joshua & Garcia.

Derrik James is a serious trainer so it's a good choice hopefully he can help Ryan improve some of his flaws because he has quite a few. He's not a trainer who has all his fighters fighting the same kinda style hes a guy who sees what works an then goes from there with a fighter. Charlo,Spence,Frank Martin all have looked really good under him so let's see if Ryan can stick with it
