Comments Thread For: Brian Mendoza Wants To Get His Hands On Jermell Charlo

Due to the elite-level scrappers that reside in each and every weight class, naming one fighter as the division's best becomes a practically impossible task. In the junior middleweight division, however, Jermell Charlo has separated himself from the rest of his peers.

Honestly, I wonder why Tim Tszyu didn't pursue Brian Mendoza after his wins over Jeison Rosario and Sebastian Fundora, he is way more proven than Chema Ocampo. Would be a pretty solid name in his resume.

Ocampo is not a bad fighter. Why should Tszyu have to keep fighting top level guys while he waits for his mandatory shot?

Scared to lose his mandatory position.

I mean he had handled Harrison just fine without any long-term damage. It would help him elevate his game to be prepared for Jermell Charlo. Ocampo isn't terrible, but all he do is keep Tim sharp until Jermell challenges him, which there is the possibility that he could pick up a tune up himself.

Wouldn't blame him, but I am bit disappointed if that is the case.

Neither would I. The burden is on Charlo to fight them as they are his mandatories, they've done their job. I'm sure every sensible person would agree with me, I just wish there would be more sensible people when it comes to clenelo alvaroid. This nonsense of expecting mandatories to fight one another for a shot at the belts is garbage. The champ should take on all comers, and if he can't handle that he should vacate, and duck outright jnstead of holding belts hostage.

Damn, didn't know Jesus already beat him! I'd like to see Jose Resendiz come to 154! His trainer said he could make 154 easy! Him and Jose would be good!
