    Top 5-10 I'd say.

Chavez, Sanchez, Barrera, Morales, JMM and Olivarez are all time greats IMO. Head to head I don't think Canelo surpasses them as of yet. We'll see.

Canelo will never be better than Salvador Sanchez. If you didn’t see him fight you can’t possibly understand how great that dude was and where he was going. Mind you, Sanchez resume is that good at 23 years old.

Canelo also isnt better than Lopez imo.

I would put him on the level with, but slightly below below Chavez and Olivares, given the volume of fights they both had.

Good point about Sanchez. Still can't believe he was only 23 when he died given his resume.

Proably top 3 with Chavez and Sanchez. Sure, Canello has some close decisions and wins vs out of prime guys, btu so do all those toher guys too.

He has a good case for it. IMO he should just grab another belt off Badou Jack for another weight division and beat Benavidez and Charlo and he'll be set.

Exactly. Absolutely tragic. That dude was on his way to ATG level status.

All the previous mexicans did was beat up fellow 5'5 malnourished brown people. Who cares about fights below middleweight. Black and europeans don't come in that size. the only ones that small are the odd crack babies.

He was the only one who fought who stepped up and raised the profile of all mexicans by fighting healthy blacks and whites at normal people weight classes.
Lol! Wow. Hang tight onto that stuff as China takes another step every single day towards taking over Europe and the Americans at a pace that has excellerated 1600% since Trump-Pence left office. The smart money says that within 20 years, all adult males over 5'6' 135 will be nutered or sterilized by order of the people's universal government. .

I have to laugh, charlo is not even active and is a 160lbs, if he moves up is for a paycheck. And why grab another meaningless belt against a guy that would not get credit one way or another? Why not fight benavidez and Morell jr?

I think that despite that Canelo has wins over great fighters, putting physical limitations on declining fighters impacts his standing to a degree, his best version was at 160 in my opinion despite having fought only three times there (Cotto, Jacobs and Golovkin).

Still a solid top 10, world champion at multiple divisions debuting at 154 to 175. His career isn't over yet.

                    My list would be:

                    1. Julio Cesar Chavez
                    2. Salvador Sanchez
                    3. Juan Manuel Marquez
                    4. Erik Morales
                    5. Marco Antonio Barrera
                    6. Canelo Alvarez
                    7. Ruben Olivares
                    8. Vicente Saldivar
                    9. Juan Francisco Estrada
                    10. Miguel Canto

Yeah, this is about my list, but I'd make room for Carlos Zarate on there somewhere.

He was unbeatable in his prime.
