I can’t believe some of the comments here, everybody has an off night and it was proven where the Aussie kid beat Lopez. It demonstrates how a mediocre contender gets lucky on one night. Lopez vs loma then it was even stevens between kambosa and Lopez because their comparable. They are both below lomas level and this Haney kid is on their level. Lopez was the heavy underdog and rightly for a reason.
people forget that reason, vasily lomachenko.
THis should be loma by pure better boxing skill and experience and note: bookies are not giving great odds for Haney winning and they don’t count lomachenko out, why?

Yup. Haney was getting clocked cleanly over and over by Jojo Diaz. Lomachenko has an enormous skills advantage here.

I fully expect haney to lose. Haney is skilled and has size but I think the difference is that Loma is a fighter. We have seen that if a fight gets tough, Loma won't fold under pressure. I think if haneys jab doesn't work, or he gets hit too much, he will panic.
Only way i think haney wins is if Loma gives away the early rounds like he has been doing his last few fights.

I think there's two wrong assumptions for this fight IMO: 1. That Haney is levels above Loma, 2. that Loma is as good as his last fight. Haney is very skilled with a physical advantage but I think Loma's footwork is better and can close the distance. Unless Loma is shot to pieces, he is way better than his last fight (Haney is smart enough to know this) where he was fighting his sparring partner and came in rusty from the war in Ukraine. Having said that, I think it'll be a close fight for either side

At Lomachenko's age and with the circumstances of the last year or so, it's hard to say what kind of a level he is at for sure. I think he's undoubtedly in some kind of decline given his age, but how large that decline is, whether his last fight mis-represented it or not, remains to be seen.

At the same time, I think Haney has an inflated view of himself from beating Kambosos twice, though that result shouldn't mean that much. Kambosos is not a top tier fighter and was fortunate to meet Lopez when Lopez's health was rocky. There was definitely something seriously wrong with Lopez that night.

I think Haney has skills that make him a tricky opponent, but there are flaws. He got properly wobbled vs Linares and JoJo Diaz had some success at times in their fight. Loma should be a significantly more difficult proposition... barring those question marks over his decline.

Had this fight happend 4 years ago Loma would smoked Haney. In do time Haney got better more experience, grew into his weight and Loma has aged and lost a step as well as struggles vs rangy fighters. Now I see Haney winning by split decision though I hope Loma can turn back the clock for 2-3 more fights win vs Haney beat tank (if Loma got any juice he wins this) and then retire at 140 vs Regis in a cash out or even Ryan Garcia. Stay away from Teflo Ramirez n Taylor. Whomever wins whether Loma or Haney should go take Rollys belt at 140 both are very capable of ask me

As much as I criticize Haney, he's way better than Rolly. Haney is a very smart boxer. He has some serious flaws and isn't a complete boxer in my opinion, but he's mastered the art of fighting tall. He also can outthink fighters in the ring. He out-thought Kambosos, took away his biggest weapons. He's very athletic, being able to stick and move all 12 rounds. So it's critical that Haney is not underestimated. He's a dangerous opponent.

I actually like Rolly because he has made the most within his limitations, actually better than some boxers that are technically better but let's be real here.. Haney is levels above Rolly

The question is how much does Loma has left? I ask that question because Haney is not a choir boy. I know that many of you have questioned is heart, power and toughness. However, let me ask you this one question?

How many of his opponents have actually pushed Devin to the point of where he had to bring that dog out of him or bite down and dig deep? Not many because he can fight.

Therefore. Loma must bring his A game in order to win this one. While the fight could go either way. I am slightly leaning towards Haney to win.

Ultimately it is going to come down to the man who wants it the most. If Hi-Tech wants it then he is going to have to take it because Haney is not going to lay down for him.

One thing is for certain. Devin Haney is a far cry from his previous opponent Jamaine Ortiz. He is on a totally different level.
