It will really depend on the 24/7. No one really gave a sit about JMM PBF until they saw that JMM was border line insane, training in chambers, mountains and drinking his piss, couple that with the weekend of a national holiday for a people that have been carrying boxing PPVs for years and you have success. Int he same token Calzaghe vs Jones was by far the most boring 24/7 yet and it did bad numbers. HBO will have to work overtime, to make this 24/7 interesting. Both guys are way too quiet.

I called the MGM Grand this morning actually and tried to get a few more tickets, I already bought 2 @ $500 each and was able to pick up 2 more for $350 each from a friend, but they have nothing under $1,000 and mostly single seats.

I'm going to be selling 2 tickets come closer to fight time, so if anyone wants to go shoot me a PM.
wrong... I can post up a dozen ticket broker sites right now that have over a hundred tickets available... Thanks thought but I'ma be at the fight already have tickets

I spoke with the people I happen to do business with. HBO's projection of 700K would make them very happy. So would Arum. Please notice that The Bobfather has been mum since Floyd's numbers came out. Also notice that "Mayweather Marquez 24/7" has been changed to "24/7 Pacquiao Cotto" to de-emphasize the participants in this bout

Neither Pac nor Cotto is the draw that Floyd is. And the two combined may not be.

This is a fight fan's fight. Not a mainstream fight. Yet. The marketing may amp that up, but neither fighter has established himself as a figure outside of the sport.

            575K - 800K. This fight won't beat "Numero Uno".

problem with the fight is neither are american. that makes it harder to predict. i'd say around 850-900, similar to the Hatton/Pac fight.

The only reason I'm not throwing you off a roof is because you are a Yankee fan.

You think this fight would beat Delahoya-Trinidad??

Pac isn't nearly as popular as Delahoya. Cotto isn't nearly as popular as Trinidad. What algorithm gets you to that huge number?

I don't think "American" is a substantive component of why people buy fights. Trinidad wasn't American, and he never spoke English in public. He was a consistent seller.

I think it has more to do with fight style, personal charisman, etc,

Tito was one of the most charismatic boxers that I've seen. Hamed also.

HBO IS TRYING A NEW INITIATIVE:

HBO has partnered with Major League Gaming. They have created an online tournament where you can fight as Manny Pacquiao or Miguel Cotto in competitive bouts. The intent is to lure in the younger demographic.
Floyd does very well with this younger age group (you guys call all his fans 15 yr olds).

The top-ranked (no pun intended) online tournament Pacquiao and Cotto fighters will each win roundtrip airfare to/from Las Vegas, 2 nights hotel accommodation, one ticket to the live Pacquiao vs. Cotto fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and one ticket to the VIP reception.

This is a great idea. When you have fighters or athletes that do not have personalities, you create a proxy for that. This should be interesting, even though I'm not a gamer.

Despite the lies that have circulated on here, the fight is not sold out, and not nearly sold out. As of 30 minutes ago, the hotel was not sold out. While Ross and Bob have a poor (nonexistent) relationship, HBO is trying to help sell this fight.

It's funny how Floyd was criticized for having some ticket giveaways,,,and here ya go.
