  • Comments Thread For: Rolly Romero Gets Off The Floor, Gains Controversial Stoppage of Ismael Barroso in Ninth For WBA Title

By Keith Idec - LAS VEGAS - Rolando "Rolly" Romero knew the danger involved, even if Ismael Barroso looked significantly older than his listed age of 40. After suffering a third-round knockdown, a sometimes-reluctant Romero fought accordingly over the next six rounds. Romero eventually scored a debatable knockdown of his own early in the ninth round and was awarded a controversial technical-knockout victory in a "Showtime Championship Boxing" main event at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Anyone rolling with Barroso to get the win?

Anyway, think it should be a pretty interesting card overall. YouTube Prelims start at 5:30pm CT.

12-0 (9 KOs) Estueri Suero vs 17-1-1 (13 KOs) Starling Castillo

7-0 (6 KOs) Micheal Angeletti vs 20-3 (14 KOs) Michell Banquez (on two fight losing streak to 21-1 Ramon Cardenas & TKO’d by 16-1 Antonio Vargas)

1-0 (1 KO) Justin Viloria vs 5-1 (5 KOs) Pedro Pinillo (lost his last fight by MD to 4-0-1 Alejandro Garcia)

I'll probably stream this as I have nothing better to do, but Barraso is 40 and looks old enough to be my grandfather, and I am pushing 50!

I don't imagine this bout will go too far, no? Anyone got Barroso taking the W?
