Not even Tank was able to beat up Cruz so you know Shakurs Malignaggi type power isn't doing **** to cruz.

Fighters likes Haney Shakur Floyd don't "beat up" ppl they out Tage them..nothing to he proud of but hey to each there own.

Malignaggi power? hahahahahaha.... so true! And yes they don't beat up they "tag" them... well said

You're just repeating the BS Shakur spews..that fight was never offered to cruz no different than when Ryan was calling for Tank 2 yrs ago and didn't get it till recently. Was Tank ducking Ryan when Ryan said he wanted it?

This fight is too easy for Stevenson. Cruz is a C level fighter at best and he'd get a worse whooping than Yoshino.

Cruz is just a tough bum getting by with youthful energy.

No, I'm repeating what Cruz own team said. "He's a runner" "He's too defensive" which really means he's too skilled for Cruz.

The WBC ordered the fight as a final eliminator for Devin Haney. No other reason for Cruz not to take that opportunity other than ducking the fight.

Issac Cruz ducked Shakur Stevenson. Facts.

Like Reynoso said, Shakur is a coward duck in the ring but he is skilled and has phenomenal stats.

People might like him more if he fights in more excited way. Otherwise, he will be a bad clone of Froid forever.

"Initially, team Cruz remained mum on why they opted to go in another direction. But, after being bombarded with questions, team Cruz revealed that Stevenson’s defensive approach would lead to a boring fight."

They should've remained mum, because that a BS excuse! If it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, IT'S A DUCK!

Shane Mosley calls Shakur Stevenson the best overall fighter in the lightweight bunch
Shane Mosley assesses some of the top names in the lightweight division.
                  By Wil Esco@wil_esco May 11, 2023, 8:30am EDT

Mosley on who he thinks the standout lightweight is between Gervonta Davis, Devin Haney, and Shakur Stevenson

“They’re all different. So I love Tank and his approach to the fight, how he comes, he comes strong — he kind of reminds me more of myself, the type of fighter that I was. So I like Tank and I do love Devin Haney, the way he stands on the outside and throws that jab and right hand, speed and his ring IQ.

And Shakur, he definitely does everything really, really good, gives me Pernell Whitaker vibes, very crafty, movement, speed, the power — I think it’s ‘Sugar’ now right? It’s ‘Sugar’ Shakur? I heard it was ‘Sugar’ Shakur Stevenson...but, yeah, he’s fantastic. He’s smart, his ring IQ, all this stuff is tremendous, speed, the power is picking up too.

“It seems to me, right now, that he’s probably the best overall fighter in the division but I don’t know what he’s gonna do with Tank and I’m not sure what he can do with Devin Haney because Devin’s so tall and rangy. It could be the old Vernon Forrest vs ‘Sugar’ Shane type of thing, I don’t know. They all have to get together and fight and see who’s the best.”

Those who know Boxing, know that Tank vs. Shakur is THE FIGHT!

Shakur would outbox Cruz widely, he wouldn’t take chances like Tank, he wouldn’t trade (he doesn’t have to).

But beating the hell out of Cruz? Doubt it. Cruz is one tough sob.

Even then, Shakur would have to be very careful not to get caught up in his own hype, and end up overlooking Cruz and getting KO’ed.

I understand fighters saying this about Haney, but Stevenson? Shakur is a pretty clean fighter, doesn’t fight dirty, throws and lands clean punches, his defense is clean. That does. Sound like a bad excuse. Shakur Stevenson isn’t boring.
