Pacquiao, sparmate toe-to-toe

I didn't say his gameplan for Cotto should be the same as for Oscar. I was saying that Pac doesn't need to lift weights in order to punch harder. He punches hard enough, and the problem with lifting is that it can mean trading power for speed.Do you honestly think he can do that to Cotto for twelve rounds? Oscar was flat footed as a fighter more so in his twilight years. if Pacquiao cannot hurt Cotto--the only thing he'll do is waste energy. What I'm say is he needs more pop to his punches to make Cotto rethink about coming forward. He needs to make Cotto respect his power.Comment

What I'm saying is, the power he showed against Oscar is not enough, in my opinion, and Cotto knows how to cut the ring effectively. So not unless Pacquiao takes roids --I don't know where he'll get the extra power to keep Cotto at bay.Comment

U think that punch to hatton won't keep cotto at bay?? In the oscar fight pac was not going for power shots. If cotto tries to bulldoze his way to manny he might end up like hatton.Comment

Lifting weights doesn't equal punching power. Please tell me you don't believe that.I hope this gets Pacquiao acclimated to punching harder as a welterweight---let's face it, the Hatton KO was based on three things: 1.) Placement of the punch 2.) Technique 3.) speed, and also the fact that Pacquiao is a natural JWW. Adding, if you see the Oscar fight Pacquiao should've made Oscar kneel down after getting those shots but he didn't that's because Pacquiao doesn't lift weights enough and relies solely on speed to generate his power. That's taken him far but he needs to punch harder if he plans to wear down Cotto enough on November to take him out.Comment
