there are some yt videos where Canelo tries to learn Ry some basic boxing things and Ry looks clueless and unable to understand them lol

this kid is all about posturing on internet
Ryan is a really good fighter who’s only 24 yrs old. There’s no shame in losing to tank, who’s a HOF talent. The fact that you say “he looks clueless when trying to learn basic boxing things” it’s crazy to me lol.

I don't know who is more mentally fucked up; Teofimo Lopez or Cryin' Ryan Garcia?

However and at the same time he has several mental health issues that needs to be addressed before continuing his boxing career. It doesn't seem like his heart is really into this sport anymore. His will appears to be broken; He is both unfocused, undisciplined and lacks the drive to succeed. He reminds me a lot of JCC, Jr.

Ryan should consider James Buddy McGrit and Freddie Roach!

If we’re going to be honest

canelo sold his 0 as well by fighting Floyd while still developing and accepting an even worse weight drain stipulation than Ryan did

There are boxers who have the IQ to set traps (like Gervonta Davis), there are others who can set traps on traps (like Lomachenko and Mayweather), and then there are boxers like Ryan. He is mostly sound in his basics, has a major weapon, but otherwise almost completely lacks the IQ to be great. Davis beat him by using very basic tactics and counters.

I just don’t think a boxer, or really any athlete, can go from playing checkers to mastering chess once he’s reached some level of athletic maturity. You have to be groomed for that shït. And changing trainers every other fight isn’t going to change that.

Could be some true to this, but I don’t think he’s anywhere close to JCC jr lol. That dude is a nutcase. How he bounces back will say a lot about him and his character. The first L, especially in that fashion, could break a fragile person. But the skills are deft there to be champ in multiple weight classes.

I think Freddie would be perfect! I’ve always felt like fighters should go all in on their strong attributes. When you try to become something you’re not is when you get in trouble (1st fighter that comes to mind is hatton training with Floyd Sr. For the pac-man fight). Freddie is the best offensive coach in boxing. Ryan strongest attribute is his speed and power. Match made in boxing heaven.

For what??? To become boring by hugging all night ? Thatīs the Mayweather formula, which works ony in the US due to the race card, being that refs are scared to deduct points, let alone disqualify. In any other country, Floyd (the most boring fighter of his era) would have been disqualified due to his tactics.
