I say fuck it. let them fight. I thought Morrell needed more seasoning but if Benavidez is willing to risk his mandatory status against an unknown then so be it. It's a good fight for us boxing fans anyhow.

I combination of any of those three fighters would be good. One thing is that Morrell shows a lot of skills but yet it is unknown how he will do in a long hard fight.

Canelo fighting Benny or Morell is never going to happen. Benny v Morrell will happen and Benny will get the decision. Once these Cuban fighters get a taste of the good life in the US, they all start to look mediocre. Why? They stay chasing women thinking they’re playboys, they get lazy, and given time and freedom, they . Ask Luis De Cubas who has brought many to America after they defected.

Since the 1960’s, No Cuban fighter has been inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame.

Here’s a list of the many that found limited success compared to their amateur careers. Most have under achieved since coming to the US.

        Yanqui Diaz
        Ramon Garbey
        Juan Carlos Gomez
        Jorge Luis Gonzalez
        Dysbelis Hurtado
        Joel Casamayor
        Yuriorkis Gamboa
        Guillermo Rigondeaux
        Odlanier Solis,
        Yan Barthelemy
        Luis Ortiz
        Luis Franco
        Erislandy Lara

Big difference between Morrell & Plant is that Morrell can punch & he's a lefty. Should be a great fight because Benavidez is no slouch.

Regardless of what Canelo's plans are, Benavidez vs. Morrell Jr. is "Must-See TV!"

He might as well because the WBC is too scared to order Canelo to fight him!

Ryder was out here selling wolf tickets, knowing damn well he wasn't about to take that ass whooping from Morrell, unless it came with a few million dollars. Benavidez and Morrell will be a war, and Morrell could possibly beat David because he's so athletic, with footwork, timing, and very heavy hands. But whatever the case, Cinnabon will avoid them both for as long as possible. He's already trying to push the Benavidez fight into next May, that's just enough time to come up with another excuse to push it out even further.

Whilst I doubt that Canelo "must" fight the winner of a benevidez - morrell match up, I think there's a chance he would.

He is meeting his WBO mandatory against Ryder and the winner of benevidez - morrell would probably be a combined WBC - WBA mandatory so, unless he just vacates his titles in order to pursue whatever fights he wants, there'd be a lot of pressure on him to take that fight.
