I know they’re generally regarded as the best fighters in the amateur circuit but it makes me wonder whether in fact it’s because they get complacent or it’s that their style presents vulnerabilities in a professional setting. Either case, I feel like Lara could’ve easily been in the IBHOF had he gotten nods over Williams and Canelo. Such a shame though, because he has good/decent wins and has never been stopped…but there’s no single career signature win or dazzling performances to get him in there (though his career isn’t over). Maybe Rigondeaux down the line…?

And let me go on the record while I’m at it to say that Morell as inexperienced as he is (in the pros) I think he would beat Benavidez. I like the guy and his determination but he is waaaaaay too flat footed and defensively negligent to beat someone like Morell or Canelo. He devours my boy Berlanga, though. Dead man walking…
He got robbed in both of the fights you mentioned. In the Williams fight all the judges were suspended for life, and he made canelo look like a child. And he defected old, just like the others. Morell jr defected at 19/20yo, that's a big difference.

Yeah. He has to be held to a higher standard than every boxer active today because you say so otherwise you'd have a b*tch fit.

Fight the winner, sure. He'd be free to fight where he'd like afterwards, he's busy fighting above his weight not beating up overmatched opponents like Morrell. Beni whoops him, you just on the sack.

Morrell, who has done nothing at all. He's not fought any top tier opponent to be calling for a Canelo fight.

So when he fought Kovalev, he wasn't above his weight? I don't understand, did he move to CW? Or he's fighting Usyk? That must be it.
