Eventually, yes. Next , probably not
Will David Benavidez fight David Morrell?

It’s a high risk zero reward fight for David. He all but has the Canelo fight being clamored for by the fans and media even more than the Bivol rematch no one but Canelo wants.Comment

Bro, the Canelo fight is most likely dead for this year. That's why I made NO mention on Canelo.
You should know why, Canelo gor Ryder, then most likely Bivol.
Videz got to make a choice on his next move, or he might take a break until next year waiting for Canelo like many of these fighters wish.Comment

Good point, but still doesn't explain why Videz didn't respond to Morrell's callouts to step in the ring while Videz was ringside.
Its the other way around imo. Morrell isnt know, Benavidez has finally made a name for himself and is in the drivers seat as the #2 giy in the division. Morrell needs to push Al and Co., since they share the same promoter/manager
Its a high risk/low reward for Benavidez, BUT if he wins he has MORE of a case of why Saul needs to fight him
Fighters should step up to call uts especially when at the same venue.Comment

Exactly my point.
You could be right because Canelo threw some crumbs of hope when he mentioned Benavidez's name in a positive light. Canelo appreciated David's performance in the the Plant fight, which probably surprised the father and son team. But I don't think the Canelo fight is happening for Benavidez's any time soon. He could be waiting for nothing.
Wishing upon a star all year long is a bad move.
That's one of the points of this thread, what is Videz's next move???Comment

Morrell has been calling out Benavidez ever since I can remember to the point of becoming an annoyance to the father and son team. Benavidez Sr finally had it and offered the fight months ago to Morrell, which is a fight they're 110% ready for because they've been inactive and desperate for fights at that time.
And what was Morrell's camp reaction? He's not ready yet and fought another guy.
And you're saying Benavidez should give them what they want when Morrell and his trainer basically snubbed them when they were offering the fight.
If you are offered a job which you applied for, but rejected it, would you have the nerve to come back later and say you made a mistake? Or would you be angry that they no longer want you?
Anyways, apparently, Benavidez Sr is the one deciding for his son's next fights. The son trains and fights, the father handles the business side.Comment

It's one of the best alternatives for Videz.

Look at where Morrell is ranked.
Videz should call Morrell's bluff now and say let's do it.Comment

You may be right, but that’s not necessarily how Benavidez sees it. You have to look at it from his perspective. After all, it’s his career. People make choices all the time, some of them wrong. All I’m saying is that it’s very understandable why this young, talented kid would hold out hope for a life-changing money fight. In the face of that, it’s hard to make perfectly objective decisions.

But fight fans want to see fighters FIGHT.
I feel you though, this is exactly why fans stop following certain fighters, and get disappointed, alas Spence BudComment

Hey, I’m not saying I don’t want to see this fight. Haha This is probably the one bout I’d like to see right now. Not only are these two studs similarly talented, but the motivation to win would be intense. I think it would be explosive.Comment
