Will David Benavidez fight David Morrell?

Morrell has been very vocal and pushing for a fight with Benavidez.
After his last win, he called out Benavidez to the ring, David didn't respond, much less get into the ring to faceoff (which would hav been great!).

It is out of character to see Benavidez not respond when Morrell asked him to step up in the ring.

Benavidez has also been REALLY quiet lately.

Is he just enjoying the Plant victory and taking it easy? Will he accept a Morrell fight or back off and fight lower tier comp. next?

    What do you think?

I dont see why he wouldnt. Alvarez has his weak mando this weekend, then gonna get his a$$ kicked again in the rematch vs Bivol. So it would make sense for this fight to happen this year.

Let's just stop this ducking nonsense, shall we? Didn't Benavidez called Morrell's bluff months ago? Why skip that part?
Fake fans agreed it's not good to rush Morrell. And now when Benavidez is taking his time, it's ducking.

      "MORRELL IS F**KIN CRAZY" ...

David Morrell: "I Want Benavidez But It's Not Depending On Me"
Having aggregated an amateur record consisting of 130 wins against only two losses, David Morrell found it necessary to accelerate his pro career. Just one year following his debut, the Cuban star snagged the interim WBA super middleweight crown. Shortly after, the WBA’s proliferation of world titles would continue as the 24-year-old was elevated to “Regular” champion.

Morrell's Trainer On Fighting Benavidez Next: I Don't Wanna Rush Him Into Something
MINNEAPOLIS – Ronnie Shields simply isn’t sure. David Morrell Jr.’s respected veteran trainer believes in his talented boxer’s ability and potential. Shields also appreciates Morrell’s ambition, which led the unbeaten WBA world super middleweight champion to state Saturday night that fighting David Benavidez next would be “perfect.”

Real fans want this fight. Fake fans are the over-protective ones who don't believe in rushing fights.

        I agree man.
Benavidez has been REALLY quiet though, not sure why, making me want to doubt Videz steps to Morrell.

Anyways, we'll see what Videz does for his next move

I think the fight is in the works. Morrell Jr used the platform after his fight, to promote the benavidez fight, millions were watching so it was the perfect moment to get things rolling. If they don't fight next, is not going to be because ducking, from neither one of them.

              Well said.
My thing on all this is why didn't Videz respond and stayed quiet. It was the perfect opportunity to promote the fight had Videz stepped in the rign and responded.
But hey, only Videz knows why

Easy answer: Benavidez is looking for the big money payoff with Canelo. Why commit to Morrell so easily? It’s risky, but I can see Benny taking the challenge if Alvarez blows him off. We can only hope. These young bucks would make for a great fight!

Its the other way around imo. Morrell isnt know, Benavidez has finally made a name for himself and is in the drivers seat as the #2 giy in the division. Morrell needs to push Al and Co., since they share the same promoter/manager

Its a high risk/low reward for Benavidez, BUT if he wins he has MORE of a case of why Saul needs to fight him

You could be right because Canelo threw some crumbs of hope when he mentioned Benavidez's name in a positive light. Canelo appreciated David's performance in the the Plant fight, which probably surprised the father and son team. But I don't think the Canelo fight is happening for Benavidez's any time soon. He could be waiting for nothing.
