One of the things Goosen said was that Garcia was right 90%+ of the time. So he didn't apply any more guidance. That's either a failing of Goosen or just too much respect for his fighter. Garcia needs to learn more skills especially in the the defensive area. And have some patients. In short, he over rated himself and now has to go back and be honest with himself.

These are normal developments. Getting ur face menaced and ur ribs broken can make u change a whole lot of things, and do a lot of crazy sh.t... That shot wasn't just some regular shot.
