By Keith Idec - Gervonta Davis' lifelong trainer understands fans want to see his powerful, skillful southpaw oppose the best lightweights in boxing now that Davis has knocked out Ryan Garcia. Calvin Ford urged them to be patient because business will dictate who Davis fights later this year and in 2024. The Showtime Pay-Per-View event headlined by Davis-Garcia generated approximately 1.2 million buys in the United States and produced $22.8 million in ticket sales at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Neither Haney nor Shakur have anything that can stop Tank.

Their hope would be to try to beat him on points.

I disagree with Calvin Floyd. Devin Haney is both surgically, scientifically and more fundamentally sound than Ryan Garcia. He is also a masterful strategist with a very high ring IQ. In addition, he has a good jab and uses spacing, range, distancing and length as the naturally larger man; A whole lot better than R. Garcia does.

"Their hope"? Lmfao the hype Is unreal. If puppy Cruz can make the decision being the aggressor then I can see hankey make it to decision unless he gets cracked but Shakur for sure clowns him

The fight definitely makes sense, but I guess as always, they're talking dollars sense, milk as many millions as possible, while still in this sport.

Haney is a fair amount better than Ryan, no doubt, but Tank would have a good chance of beating Haney. Davis is very cerebral, takes his time and figures an opponent out.

Shakur is a different kettle of fish, more of a puzzle. I'm surprised that Shakur didn't win the Olympic gold medal, but ok, amateur fights and scoring is just different.

Haney is only 24 years old and needs to go to 140 sooner than later.

This article just shows that boxing has become more of a business than a sport. Yup, I know it’s called prize fighting but take a guy like fury and his crazy demands . Is that prize fighting? And that today is the problem with boxing, that and to many belts, promoters, platforms , etc.

I know what Haney has that will stop Tank, he has a superb Clinch. That sure will Stop. Haney learned it from the best History Mayweather. Best Clinching of all times.

Haney would present problems no doubt but he doesn’t do well with power and tends to hold, whereas Gervonta is the worst type of puncher due to being sharp and wicked once he hurts you plus Gervonta is underrated as a boxer. I give edge to Gervonta but I believe Stevenson has edge over both because I see no weakness except power, but that’s well enough to keep people honest! Stevenson is most feared at lightweight and should be, best defense with awesome offense and perfect timing and avg to good power.

Five years later, Stank still avoiding Loma. He learned from the best how to wait out your rival getting old and shop-worn .
