To be fair, Eubank floated the notion that he might just have ended up with getting his arse kicked further had it continued, so he's not quite as delusional as the headline suggests. He kind of has a quarter of a point, in that the only way you get gruelling see-saw contests is if the fighters are allowed to push through adversity, but it's also unfair on the ref to claim he was short-changing anyone in this specific circumstance, because it was a valid stoppage. The ref had already let him carry on when he was looking very much on shaky legs. He didn't push on through adversity, he just took more punishment and there's no reason to think that wasn't going to continue. He actually owes the ref thanks.

Fights in England are always stopped early that place is a boxers nightmare. Gatti/ward wouldn’t have lasted 6 rounds in the UK let alone a trilogy lolComment

No doubt, I was surprised he didn't stop it after the first knockdown because he got up and stumbled across the ring.
Yes is true. You couldn't really see the elbow until you looked closely. Also Smith landed with pretty much all of the punches in his combos. Which is rare. I doubt the same will happen again in the rematch. Ref was right to stop the fight though. Eubank was on unsteady legsComment

It tiresome listening to Eubanks delusional rants. The truth is that he has not improved as a boxer and Smith exposed what anyone with a basic knowledge of boxing knew already...technically Eubank is horrible. No jab, no defense and no ring craft. He is a pantomime villain and nothing more.Comment
