Once Haney moves up to 140 and fights a live dog it’s a wrap for him. He can get away with the weight, reach and height advantages at 135 but when he moves up….he’s going to get stopped. That won’t happen because if he beats Loma look for him to defend his title against Richard Commey next while he waits for a vacant 140lb belts against a no hoper.

He's either got to move up & fight everybody or keep sucking down to 135 & beat not only loma but Tank & Stevenson.
Even then he won't be as good as Usyk or Inoue.

If Haney beats Loma, Shakur and Tank at 135, I think he makes a great case for (assuming rumored fights happen) being a top 4 or 5 p4p boxer behind:
Spence/Crawford winner
Fury/Usyk winner
Inoue/Fulton winner
Canelo/Bivol 2 winner.

Haney's the bigger guy in this matchup too, with all the physical advantages, so it's going to be hard for him to get credit. Loma, Tank, and Shakur would make a strong case for him though. These guys don't seem to understand that winning when you're supposed to win doesn't mean as much as winning when you're not supposed to.

Tank has proven that he doesn't have to fight either Loma, Shakur or Haney. He is already a box office draw among casual fans but Inoue and Usyk are not. You might as well face it. The man put meat in the seats.
Those guys you've mentioned need to build up their brands before Davis even so much as to entertain the thought of fighting either of them.

Haney will never be the #1 pound for pound fighter in boxing, because he doesn't have any punching power.
Boxing ability can only take you so far, because when your boxing ability can't get the job done, that's when power comes into play.
You have to be a well rounded fighter in all aspect in order to reach that lofty #1 pound for pound spot.

Meanwhile Tank just got put on the ring p4p list for beating Garcia lol Haney must be pissed right now and i wouldn't blame him. That list is questionable anyway it somehow has Errol Spence above Canelo would love to know their reasoning for that.

He is now a box office smash, a marketing machine and must see tv and that must really infuriate you. It doesn't matter who is the better or skilled fighter is at this point.
The bottom line is who could put enough meat in the seats, sell out arenas and break box office records and is name just so happens to be Gervonta 'Tank' Davis.
Does that make you salty on the inside; That this little black boy from Baltimore, Maryland is now the face of boxing?Last edited by champion4ever; 04-26-2023, 07:12 PM.
