If Garcia's ribs aren't broken then this has to be one of the worst quits that I've seen off the top of my head.. I guess this was Ryan's money grab and you are not going to see him near a ring for awhile. He made millions for a huge non effort. The power of social media (lol)

Two things will get you back on your feet after a body shot : Determination and condition and Ryan has neither

The thing with Ryan is that he can take a punch physically but not mentally. Once he got a bloody nose it looked like he wanted to go home. Did anyone else think it was weird and amateurish how Garcia would turn his back away from Tank every time the fight got close as to avoid the body shot. This is not the defence of a professional fighter and reeks of fear.

Tank and Garcia are from 2 different worlds. You see and experience a lot of crap in Baltimore. What crap has Garcia been thru ?

Tank was up 59-56 on two cards and 58-56 on the other. None of the judges scored the second a 10-8, weird.

Exactly, that turning away was an early sign that he wanted to quit

Because Tank is LW, why doesnt Garcia fight Canelo at 168???? Because thats not his weight

Everything with Oscar is always so serious. I don't think I've ever seen him happy since he days as a boxer. It's like he has an emotional internal war going on.

Its interesting how people keep blaming this inevitable defeat on the rehydration clause. Ryan Garcia had height, weight and reach advantages but, to his rabid fan base he should've been allowed maintain such unfair edge. And incredibly, they pretend NOT to see how the rehydro clause leveled the field.

I told my wife that Ryan and Rolly Romero would be a more interesting fight; they have very similar styles. "Tank KO Rolly in the 6th; I'll give Ryan one more round." I didn't bet on it, because I rewatched Ryan's bout with Luke Campbell last night, and gave his left hook a chance to beat Tank.

Unfortunately, Ryan's left hook is not world class. If it was, he wouldn't have been over-shooting on Tank. He had no idea how to measure Tank correctly, and it caused him to be knocked down in the 2nd.

Everything aside, great event for the sport of boxing. Now, we need Loma to beat Haney so we can get Loma vs Davis, and Davis can look like a fool.

Loma will reclaim his rightful throne.

Once, but mostly a LW. Garcia accepted the weight, he may be better at 140, but he actually had more fight at LW too

It didn’t though and tank and the weight advantage due to Garcia being drained, when a fighter is coming in drained and not in optimum weight condition, it impacts their reflexes, power and resistance and so on. This was not a level playing field, not anywhere close

it doesn’t matter if Garcia is taller or whatever, the best fight the best at their best, simple as that

remember what Floyd said when he fought cotto, he explained that well

sad part is Davis I feel wins at 140, yes it would be more difficult but he wins at 140 too imo no reason for him to put so many question marks over his win

But he fought previously at 140 without any clause. That's why I said not a good win because of that demands.

It's interesting how people didn't care about the "unfair edge" when Tank went all the way to 140 to fight Barrios facing even bigger disadvantages in those categories but didn't need to "level the field" in that fight.
