As for Toney, now if Montell Griffin could outbox him twice - I'm damn sure someone with the footwork and output of Calzaghe could do it
Big talk for somebody who’s below Hopkins & Roy on every list

shlt, I’ve seen him beneath Trinidad, Marquez, Barrera & Ricardo Lopez, Mosley and the list goes on - never mind Roy or Hopkins who are WAY higher than him.

Also calm down there, Hopkins lost back to back against Jermain Taylor twice 2 and a half years before fighting Calzaghe than lost. Than clearly lost to Dawson and had a draw against Pascal. Quite clearly past his best..

Anyway you’re talking like Cal-zaggy put on some Mayweather esque performance against Hopkins. Dawson even beat Hopkins more decisively..

Please make a thread about fantasy match-up between James Toney & Calzaghe and state your opinion. I want to see people laugh

Did he beat them fairly? Obviously not so why pretend like he did? From bad decisions to blatant nonstop cheating. The guy smuggled a bunch of money out of boxing but let's not give him accolades when he made a mockery out of it.

Obviously as a person he's a total liar and narcissist. Book of ward? Yeah let's add that to the bible catalog...his own promoter exposedhim in court about ducking guys like bute and ggg and he had no comeback. Oh I wanted to fight lil g...cept only offered to fight at the same time he fights canelo in a year's time. Once again his own promoter admitted that was the case. He's just a fraud who would run to the media who let him lie and cheat cause they wanted access to a "star"

Well you sure as hell can't go back and watch his fights and find greatness. Maybe in the moment some people got carried away with their emotions but if you watch it now it's just him nonstop cheating or getting beat up and getting gift decisions. Why did we let this happen should be the title of the documentary. Why did we enable this clown

How so? ggs win over canelo is way better than any ward win because canelo is better and he won it cleanly unlike wards wins.
Ggg has 6 other top 10 wins to wards 4 or 5 total

Ggg has 12 top 10 wins to wards 8.

Most importantly ward had to cheat to win a lot of his fights so that has to factor in. Bigly!

Already stated my opinion, Calzaghe too busy for laconic Toney. A past prime, brittle-handed, Calzaghe exposed Hopkins cagey style by just outworking him and controlling range. Actually, the prevailing image of that fight is Hopkns whining and moaning and looking for the floor as he couldn't handle the pressure. Pretty humiliating as the home fighter.
