  • Comments Thread For: Devin Haney Addresses Old Sparring Sessions With Shakur Stevenson

There's one universal policy in the world of boxing. Whatever happens behind closed doors during sparring, stays behind closed doors. Shakur Stevenson, however, cracked the curtains ever so slightly recently.

I find it really silly that some people overthink sparring sessions especially when he was so young. Obviously, Haney has progressed tremendously and a fight with Stevenson wouldn't play out nearly the same as an old sparring session.

Guys with strong father figures always speak differently. Appears more mature and in tune with their emotion. Shakur is definitely the more skill of the two, but appears to be less emotionally mature of the two.

Bullshit it does. We need some writers who actually competed and mingled with amateurs, pro's, and champions alike.

I lived this life as a young man and sparring was never kept secret. Everybody talked.

Stevenson is mandatory to the winner of Haney vs Lomachenko. Boxing is looking good going forward

Sparring is sparring. Guys are working on things, you can call time out, headgear, 16 oz gloves, etc.

I like Devin a lot, but he better move up to 140 because he's not beating Shakur.

I like how Devin said how he was worked by unknown guys when he was young too. This is a part of Boxing no 1 sees.

Devin is the only guy I see standing much of a chance against Shakur. Tank and Ryan have the punchers chance but as far as being outboxed Devin and Shakur are very comparable.
