That's how Maskaev stil is a top ranked WBC contender.

    At least I think.
Thanks, I didn't realise that if thats the case. But that shouldn't be the case if you've done nothing in YEARS. The dude is 40 and a walking coma victim if he goes anywhere near Vitali. These bodies are so corrupt and bureaucratic it's a disgrace.

Vitali wants to defend his belt a few more times then retire.
I know how ****ty they are and I suppose Vitali can only beat who they force him to fight, it just seems so wrong. I realise it's not his fault but for example why hasn't Maskaev been made to work to keep his position in the rankings? That's whats wrong and stinks.

I'd raher see Johnson as it's an easier sell - unbeaten fighter etc.. Maskaev isn't going to create much interest. I agree Dr Iron could beat both on the same night.

Oleg Maskaev has lost about 6-7 times, and I think every one has been a KO or TKO. He is a god boxer but with a VERY weak chin.

The same can be said about David Haye, who, unless he beats Valuev, would have little drawing power as an opponent. And, he's already run away from both brothers.

He has good reason to do so............self preservation, a very powerful motive.

          Yeah he's a hell of a fighter.

Nothing pretty and every boxing purist hates him because of his awkward feet I suppose. But really it's not feasible to bet on any man versus him in a fistfight. Too big and awkward.

Takes a punch too well, dishes it out, doesn't tire easily.

Has maybe the best defense in the division also.

            No. You know what's Pathetic?

Is you labeling Wladimir Klitschko "Pathetic".

            Especially on this boxing forum.

He stopped mandatory Juan Carlos Gomez in nine rounds in March, then last weekend he stopped unbeaten Chris Arreola after ten, and now Vitali looks to return on the tentative date of December 12 in Germany. Why does he fight so often? ANd he's fighting the best available, props to him.

I would like to see the Haye fight but they are enemies and boxing is a business. Don't think it will happen but money-wise that's the best fight for both. Problem is Haye doesn't seem to be fighting ANYONE, all talk no walk up to now, sad to say. I really bought into him being at least willing to try and move to the HW division.
Maskaev should retire, he's had enough, so fight Johnson...

You gotta realize the sanctioning bodies work like each are the lineal title. In the old days the former champ al;ways got a rematch for the title.I guess it still plans out like that.

Maskaev lost it last year but hasn't had a meaningfull fight since.

But he will get his title shot.

that's why im in favor of Maskaev next. Johnson, Solis, etc are all too green

so let Vitali fight Maskaev at the end of the year, to get it out of the way.

Oleg gets battered and stopped inside 5.
