Great to see Vitali will be fighting again in December!

I'm hoping it will be Kevin Johnson, since Oleg Maskaev is an old, shot fighter and beating him will do little for Vitali's legacy.

Kevin has only pulled out of a fight ONCE, recently in order to be free to prepare to fight Vitali in December.

Monte Barrett pulled out of a fight with him, and Odlanier Solis twice postponed that fight.

Solis! Now there is a good opponent in future for both Klitschkos. He's very strong and has an excellent amateur pedigree. If he beats Oquendo he should be in the line for a title shot.

Yes, he's an ATG amateur boxer who won several gold medals.

Why is Maskaev even an option.
I hope they go with Johnson. Glad he is staying active but Maskaev would just be a waste of time in my eyes.

actually I like this idea. McCall isn't busy enough to really take a decision against Vitali, but I guarantee you it would be entertaining. McCall has always had one of the best nicknames in the sport and is one of the most ***ed up characters the sport has ever seen. Johnson, Maskaev, and McCall in a 5 month period before Vitali takes on Haye after he beats Valuev

Johnson and Maskaev are terrible choices of opponents. I mean who really wants to see that ****. I'd even rather see Toney than Maskaev. This is why the HW division stinks. Pending he gets by Valuev, David Haye is the only fighter who could make it a good fightl, and draw enough interest and money.

I would prefer him to fight Johnson as because of his size it gives him more of a chance. Maskaev would be murdered by Vitali. I don't see Johnson coming close either but would rather see him fight Johnson than Maskaev.
Kingpin is smaller then Arreola though.

                    Please: No more David Haye!

The people who keep repeating the mantra "David Haye is the only option for Vitali": please remember that David Haye just backed out of a fight with Vitali. And lacking Arreola's chin and heart, Haye would have been flat on his back by the end of the second round Saturday night. The only option is to clean out what's left of the top opposition in the HW division. Toney has unexpectedly found some discipline and got down to 217, a weight I'd never thought he'd see again, for his last fight, so he may be a possibility for one of the brothers. I agree Maskaev looked bad against Sam Peter (yet still managed to rock him), and given Vitali's newfound stamina and footwork he'd probably make Oleg look foolish. Johnson to me is an unknown quantity, but his numbers make him a top contender. As for Mr. Haye, the notion that he has already beaten Valuev is slightly premature. I would warn Haye fans that it is highly unlikely that Valuev is going to sleepwalk through his fight with Haye like he did against Evander. The giant has been prodded by some seriously ugly trash talk from Haye, and like any human being, he will be looking for revenge in the ring. If Haye can take down Valuev -- a big "if" -- there's still no guarantee he will be fighting a Klitschko anytime soon, because he'll be caught in the Don King cycle of matches and rematches with Valuev, Ruiz, etc. And the question of whether he'd fight Vitali, especially, is an open one. I rather doubt it. I don't think Haye wants anything to do with Vitali Klitschko, especially after the performance he put on Saturday against Arreola.

Johnson doesn't do anything either and he punches with pillows.

                      At least Maskaev can crack.

                      Both are getting Ko'd anyway.
