Wilder won't go near Ruiz. Doubt he gets AJ out in 3 either.

well has wilder ever beaten a top 10 fighter in his prime? the answer is a resounding no. hes only beaten 2 period and they were both older. stirverne ended up losing 5 of his last 6 fights in his career and was already pretty old not to mention his ranking was inflated for beating crappy media daring arreola. ortiz was just plain old. its not really a surprise he doesnt want to fight anyone because this has been the way his entire career has been manufactured. remember when prime joshua came a calling with 100 million dollars? oops!Last edited by daggum; 04-19-2023, 06:20 PM.Comment

Is Wilder really the one responsible for the Ruiz fight not happening? I guess I haven't kept up to date with the news behind that possible matchup. I feel like Ruiz doesn't want to fight at all... He should just stay busy and fight anyone.
Looked like shyt vs Arreola... can't believe how bad he looked vs someone like Arreola. Layoff or not........
And I don't think he was impressive at all vs Ortiz. Dominant win, but doesn't mean much vs Ortiz at this stage.Comment

Dude has had 2 fights since dec 2019 i don't think Ruiz really cares about boxing any more to be so inactive i wouldn't be so quick to blame Wilder either. Is Wilder really the one responsible for the Ruiz fight not happening? Malik Scott... the head trainer for Deontay Wilder, believes the hard punching heavyweight would take out fellow former world champion Anthony Joshua within three rounds of action.
Try again Malik, this would be a 'square dance' a pre-cash out fight between 2 losers, with one loser scared and the other loser glad of it.
Better and more intriguing fights, could be made with the 'over weight baby faced killer' Andy Ruiz, if he has his mind straight or that 'dead-line demanding price out' goof ball 'The Pepsi King' Tyson Fury...OR... Oleksandr Usyk vs Zhilei 'The Big ****' Zhang, or any of the top 3 HW mandatories.
But Wilder vs Joshua at this point, and late date...it would not be 'MUST SEE TV'.
That ship has sailed.

The only two names on AJ's resume that you can make an argument that they are better than Wilder is a 40 yr old Klitsckho and Usyk whom he lost too. Please don't try and convince me that a bunch of Euro HWs are better than Wilder stop. Wilder is better than 95% of AJ's resume. Fixed that for you champ!
his resume is a billion times better than wilder's so not sure what you are talking about there. he even tried to give wilder 100 million dollars to fight but wilder ran and took less money to fight other guys. joshua is not going to beat everyone out there thats obvious but at least he tries to get it done for the most part. saying joshua is a protected fighter is one thing that is definitely not true. hes not the best but why not give him props for taking risks? risks he didnt have to take given his popularity. he could have had a bum parade like wilders career but he didnt. hes beaten 7 top 10 opponents to wilders 2 and both of wilders were 40 or near 40, and he became champ years after wilder and yet wilder still has that pathetic resume.
wilder only fought a top boy when he fought fury but fury wasnt a top boy at that time and wilder himself said he was cherry picking a fat rusty fury so he kind of got trapped in his own cherry pick. so when is wilder going to fight a top boy? he didnt for 5 years after becoming champ and its been years since the fury trilogy. seems pretty clear he doesnt want any part of the top guys.Comment

The way AJ fights now he's probably right. A confident, aggressive AJ would have taken risks and possibly taken Wilder out.
But Wilder knocking Usyk out in under 6?
Wilder wouldn't be able to hit him with a clean right hand for 12 hours. Never mind 12 rounds.Comment

Funny how Scott wants a lower confident Joshua for Wilder now, rather than calling out unified champ Usyk. The thing is, Joshua lost to arguably one of the best P4P boxers in the world, not some cab driver. His confidence and skill may not be as low as some think.Comment

Joseph Parker
Alexander Povetkin
Kubrak Pulev & Andy Ruiz
