Generic personality fighters will go nowhere because they won't draw money.

    No fans, no boxing.

At some point, you and some others here need to come to terms with that truth.
I understand what you're saying but that doesn't make it right. Fans who are more interested in a boxer because of his social media profile or because they like his personality are the problem. It doesn't matter what you say. Of course no fans, no boxing. That goes without saying. Every pro sport is exactly the same. The difference is most people who are legitimate fans of the "SPORT" appreciate the players who are at the pinnacle of the sport.
Joe Frazier might not have been the biggest personality but he had a hell of a lot of fans, even before Ali's return from exile. Nobody cared about Chavez Sr's personality outside the ring but he was a huge star and became a legend in the sport. The guy didn't even have to learn how to speak English! Canelo became the most popular boxer before he even spoke English so your theory is nonsense. It only applies to modern social media pop tarts who are a new phenomenon. Once all their phony clown boxers get beat, they will go back to their phones and ipads and pro boxing will go on.

      It's not about social media.

Canelo started getting big when he started cussing in broken English.

Nobody cared about the dude when Jose Cotto damn near stopped him.
