It is time to ask ourselves if Fury is really the best

Blubber stripped of every belt he ever won while on PEDS, while AJ, Andy, and finally Usyk with the Ring belt have been the established unified champions keeping the heavy division intact.
Usyk could fight Marsellos his next fight and far and away surpass anything Blubber ever done.

Yes...
Toyed with Wlad
Toyed with Chisora x3
Toyed with Whyte without moving out of 1st gear
Toyed with Wilder and went toe to toe with the greatest puncher of this generation and possibly history
The next best man is Usyk and he's only beat a bodybuilder and Chisora.
It's not just who Fury beat it's also how he beat them. He'd batter AJ.Comment

How I rank fighters is through their feats of achievement i.e Their best wins, overall resume, and how they win.
And although Tyson Fury does not have a overall stacked resume 'For me he still has the two best wins out of all active Heavyweights, Kiltschko & Wilder'.
Anthony Joshua is also the next heavyweight with the next best feat of achievement 'Joshua's win vs Kiltschko was also a mega win. I have always been adamant that Joshua beat a better version of Kiltschko than Fury'.
But regardless of whether Kiltschko had endured three back to back training camps before the Joshua fight 'And was clearly in better condition'.
It was Tyson Fury who breached the Kiltschko dominance first 'So being honest, I have to historically and in terms of magnitude just about rank Fury's win above Joshua's win'.
Tyson Fury on merit is and should be ranked as the number 1 Heavyweight 'But if you have noticed? I have never referred to Tyson Fury as the best Heavyweight.
Quite simply Fury's whole body of work and resume just does not have the depth, for anyone to unequivocally claim that he is the best Heavyweight.
Fighters like Usyk currently, are fighting at a higher level than Fury 'And have by far more recent higher level wins'.
Tyson Fury's last two fights have barely been at World level. And the last time Fury fought at elite level skill for skill was 7-8 years ago 'Vs Kiltschko'.
Deontay Wilder was a elite level fight, and although I rate Wilder extremely highly 'No boxing purist would rate Wilder skill for skill technically, as a elite level fighter'.
Tyson Fury historically has taken on and fought in mega fights, and elite level challenges 'But objectively when you only analyse the level Fury has been fighting at skill for skill? Then you will become aware that Fury has not fought at elite level and barely World level technically for close to a decade.
Note: The point I am trying to make, may be difficult for people to understand. You may think, that I am attempting to down play Deontay Wilder, but that is not the case. What makes Deontay Wilder a great fighter is his power, determination, gameness, aggression and I will admit he does have a solid Jab 'But overall as a fighter skill for skill technically, Wilder is not a elite level fighter in that specific regard' Wilder has been a elite level fighter in terms of ratings.
Anthony Joshua in comparison to Fury, has fought consecutively for a very long time at a higher level skill for skill than Tyson Fury 'Joshua is actually a more experienced fighter than Fury at World & Elite level'.
And then we have Usyk, the most accomplished active fighter in the entire sport of boxing.
So the question that the thread starter is asking is a valid question. We all know that Tyson Fury right now has great resolve, that he is game, that he is a big time performer in the clutch, that he is extremely courageous 'Because since Fury's win vs Kiltschko, these are the area's of his game that have been tested'..
To beat Deontay Wilder it is a test of courage and resolve predominately 'More than it is a test of tactical skill and application'. Most Heavyweights can look at Deontay Wilder fight, and they will know exactly what they need to do to win 'Those same Heavyweights 99.99% would still lose to a peak Wilder' Because they would struggle to maintain the game plan vs Wilder, because instinctively fighters want to stay away from his power 'To beat Wilder, you have to show high levels of courage to move towards potential doom'.
What people in the boxing world do not know about Tyson Fury currently right now 'Is how Fury will react and compete, with another fighter who skill for skill is a elite level fighter technically' we know that he has beaten Kiltschko but that was 7-8 years ago.
We know that Anthony Joshua can compete at this level, Joshua has just fought 24 rounds vs Usyk 'And both fights were competitive'.
We know that Usyk can compete and can win at this level 'Usyk is a former Undisputed Cruiser-weight Champion. And he has just beaten Joshua twice who was rated as a elite level heavyweight'.
Tyson Fury at some point, if he holds on to his WBC Heavyweight title will have to once again fight skill for skill at this level.

Fury is good not because he fought everyone but because of his physical attributes, power, boxing style, ring IQ, diversity in skillset, and adaptability. According to Eddie, Fury may be fighting Ruiz in July. That will be a great fight and answer some of the complaints on this thread.Comment

Fury is a good boxer with skills. He has size and is resilient. I don't get these last few fights and then avoiding Usyk. I hope he just not waiting around for a AJ fight so he can cash out. It will be a waste of talent.Comment

It's not that the Heavyweight division sucks, it's because giant sized, Super Heavyweights have taken over the division and the smaller heavies can't compete. Heavyweight has had this problem since the Lennox Lewis days.Comment

I can see that but not sure the fighters from today can really size up with yesteryearsComment
