Lomachenko is an extremely dangerous fight for Haney. Here's why.

But Loma has looked less dynamic of late.

If Loma wins, we can expect EmpiresFailing to disappear.
      Worth rooting for

Loma is shorter, smaller, not too tough and slower...if Haney loses then he is robbed by Arum and co.

I’m picking Lomachenko myself by a close decision.

The view really is that Haney will jab and hug Lomachenko for 12 rounds and the ref will do nothing about it. Haney the Jr Middleweight, probably weighing in at 150-154lbs on fight night vs a 140lb Lomachenko. Nothing dangerous for Haney.

What would be dangerous for Haney is if he fights someone his own size who can punch.

Fundora was just tall. He wasn’t actually big in weight. I question how strong someone’s legs and chin are if they’re 6’6” but fighting at 154lbs. What matters more is the fight night weight.

The Lubin KD and the Mendoza KO aren’t the last we will see of Fundora getting dropped at 154-160. He just isn’t very strong or powerful. You have a normal sized guy like Errol Spence destroying Ocampo in 1 round. Then you see this 6’6” dude going 12 rounds with the same guy. Styles make fights and all, but Fundora’s height is actually detrimental to him at these weights.

Haney is probably 150-154lbs on the night of the fight. I would be surprised if Lomachenko weighs more than 140lbs.

                Loma couldn't feast vs Ortiz.
When did he last feast on a ''top'' opponent.
(Loma is just the guy to expose a ''top'' guy)

The 2nd 1/2 of the Teo fight was ''good'' but it's not as if he shut Teo out.
It was very odd seeing Loma ''fight'' like that in the 1st 6 rds.

                Didn't see the Commey fight
                How did he look ?

I'm still seeing Haney UD W
                May the better man win
I see your point. But again, Ortiz was a high volume recent sparring partner. Haney probably can't throw that kind of output. We gotta remember, Lomachenko got shoulder surgery after the Lopez fight and Lopez has huge power. Haney doesn't.
Lomachenko got hit with some hard body shots from Commey, but quickly started countering right hands that fell short. Lomachenko could have stopped him but eased up after dropping him.

Tough fight for both. There’s no doubt about that. I rewatched the Haney x Jojo fight the other night and I called my brother like man we need to put a bag on Loma. Then I rewatched the Linares fight. What did I learn?

                  1) Haney doesn’t like fighting on the inside. His offense gets smothered and he’s not good at wrestling or jocking for position. I think that’s what fatigued him in the Diaz fight.

                  2) He has a pretty damn good jab. But he doesn’t look for more than one punch off the jab too often. Since the Linares fight, he’s not thinking about punching in combination for fear of getting hit between punches.

                  3) His lateral movement is decent and his ability to stay just out of distance of his opponents offense is above average.

My conclusion based on the aforementioned :

                  1) Loma is going to get up for this fight. Ortiz wasn’t a good measuring stick because the styles are different but so is the volume disparity. Loma will neutralize the jab by the halfway mark. He’s going to get on the inside. This is going to tax Haney’s mental stamina. Haney won’t have the steam down the stretch to slow that down.

                  2) Haney has good lateral movement and his instincts are to back up when someone throws vs slipping and countering. Loma is going to bait and feint Haney to death. Placing Haney in a position to stand his ground via clinch or counter. Or he will eventually start to fight off the backfoot. Not his strongest asset.

                  3) The intangibles; Loma’s likely last crack at undisputed. He’s going to be motivated to solve the puzzle. Top Rank needs those belts to stay home to setup a super fight between Shakur and Loma in a passing of the torch fight or classic rematch/trilogy type situation. But the belts stay home either way. Lastly, Haney’s is a super hard worker and talented. But his experience here is limited. And he’s a big boy starving on fight week…he’s going to be drained.

                  4) Loma by SD/UD.

Agreed. Loma looked good since the Teo loss and Ortiz had volume, knew him well and This was during Russia Ukraine war year. Why has everyone written off Lomachenko like he still aint thaat dude?

Both, HANEY and Stevenson are terribly overrated by the media.

                      Lomachenko will school HANEY
