  • Comments Thread For: Joyce: I Was Taking Zhang's Shots Fine, It's Unfortunate That The Eye Closed Up

Olympic silver medal winner Joe Joyce felt that he could have continued on Saturday night, when the ringside doctor stopped his fight with Zhilei Zhang in the sixth round at the Copper Box in London.

No need to explain yourself champ we know you'd have carried on but it could have got worse and time to recover longer, would be out of game longer.
    Your still a future champ.

dude that chinese line cook was busting his face up, what was his plan? let zhang punch himself out trying to break his skull? it looked like his orbital bone may have been broken the way it was swelled up.

zhag was super slow, and he was hitting joyce AT WILL. Joyce is garbage.

Zhang at one point landed 3 telegraph right hands in a row and he was sitting there looking confused and stunned between the punches like, is this a trap, is he going to try to counter me? is he really going to just stand there and take another one? like he couldnt believe he was having it that easy.

Joyce admitted he couldn't get out of way, so no point in taking morevdamage

I like you JJ, but stop lying to yourself. Your eye is the proof you obviously didn`t take this shots well.

Let me give you some advice. Yo can`t just stand in front of a huge Chinese guy blocking his punches with your face. What the hell did you expect to happen?

Joyce shows he still has no idea how to defend against a southpaw, but he was going to beat Usyk? Joe just lost to the only boxer on earth slower than he is.

The scary part was Zhang looked so much at ease in the center.

I remember that. Wild. Whenever he threw that left, it would land. Joyce never moved his head OR protected his face with his gloves. I hope he doesn’t do much sparring because if he does he’s gonna be pretty damaged in the long run.

You obviously still don’t know how to watch boxing if you think Zhang is slow ,he’s one of the fastest heavyweights out there even at 270 plus pounds . You must be the flash or something because anyone on this forum who thinks Zhang is slow must be on some good drugs watching his fights . Lol

He came in ready - he came in in shape really good shape for his weight (270) - he came in with a plan to do damage - Zig-Zang did not lie he knew he would have to take it away from the judges hands an he did. Was not a fluke or a flop but a HW trying to get back on top. Sometimes a guy gets an L for no good reason then the judges in the last fight (stole) and he starts to believe he actually did loose the fight, other fighters take it a an opportunity to make things right next time. Zip Zag is not the best of the best but he has become a lot more interesting as a fighter and esp as a heavy weight in these times of heavies and boxing. credit where credit is due. This was not AJ skipping around the ring trying to stay away from Ruiz this was not him taking a fight to show his skills and not even hurting his apponent. Ziggy took care of bussiness. Little bitta Ziggy stardust in the ring ? Have to wait and see......
