  • With Wlad out of the picture can Vitali ever be an ATG?

We all know the brothers aren't going to fight and with each of them holding the hws hostage can either garner ATG credentials while the other is active?

They will be criticized because of the so called "weak" division so probably not. I personally don't think either is an ATG but they are close to it.

Vitali is already an ATG and hall of famer.

      - greatest heavyweight champ KO% of all time, 37 KO's in 38 wins

      - great chin, never been down

      - he is unbeatable

      - never truly lost

      - dominated ALL of his opponents

      - never trailed on the scorecards

      - only man to be kickboxing and boxing world heavyweight champ

      - came back after a 4 year layoff and completely dominated and destroyed 3 legit Ring Magazine Top 10 Heavyweights.....Undefeated #1 contender KO artist Chris Arreola, Ring #2 WBC heavyweight champ Sam Peter and one of the greatest cruiserweights of all time and legit Ring Top 10 HW Juan Carlos Gomez.

Vitali is one of the greatest heavyweights of all time!!!

I'm a Vitali fan but in all honesty even though I joke about it to piss certain people off Lewis was closing the gap in their fight. Now I'm not saying he's KO's Vitali but it wasn't dominating after that bad cut and honestly the cut was the entire reason he started doing better and even Lewis fans can't dispute that. Like I always say it was 2 fights, before the cut and after the cut. Before, Vitali was winning and getting good work done, after Lewis came back and turned the tide.

Both of them being active at once hinders each of their legacies, but as far as them being ATGs they both will be regarded as such I think when they are no longer active fighters. Many fighters who are criticized during their careers are regarded much more highly after they are gone. This was the case with Lewis and it will be the case with both Wlad and Vitali.

Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards at the time of the controversial doctor stoppage. Lewis was badly hurt and was staggering around the ring like a drunk, he barely survived the 2nd round, he was getting outlanded and was hurt again later in the fight.

            punches landed

            Vitali 156

            Lewis 102

Lewis was exhausted and worn down from the accumulation of punches, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was the fresher of the two, he was a man on a mission that night and would've KO'd Lewis for sure if the fight had continued.

All of the fans at Staples Center cheered for Vitali and boo'd Lewis after the fight. Vitali was the real winner of that fight, he dominated and battered Lewis into retirement.

            Lewis promised Vitali a rematch.

Vitali destroyed Kirk Johnson in 2 rounds and the scared Lewis retired like a coward shortly after that fight.

Lewis turned down 25 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew he would get destroyed by Vitali.

Vitali Klitschko = ATG and hall of famer

Wlad has never fought a world class Heavyweight

Vitali has fought 1 world class heavyweight and he lost.

so THAT is why neither will be ATG's, resume is everything.

thats a load of **** if i ever heard it

KO % means not that much when you are fighting realtively poor comp compared to past eras...

look whatever i've explained this countless times, Vitali is a good but not great fighter, as is Wlad

Also it amuses me how all the Vitali fans say he has "never truly lost"

                    HA!

Regardless of whether he was beating Byrd, he made the conscious decision to quit, knowing and accepting it was a loss. End of.

And I don't think those gashes on his face appeared by magic vs Lewis, he was getting tagged big time, and it was a legitimate stoppage, plus Lewis was coming on.
