Joyce should take the immediate rematch with Zhang. I think he wins.

I agree, the fight will still be riddled with danger but I can see him getting Zhang out of there in the second half of the fight on accumulation, the signs were there. Zhang was looking more and more like he was fighting Joyce off him rather than dicating as he was in the first 2 rounds.

Win or lose, Joyce was slightly exposed in the fight though, his aura has been dented

Zhang won too easy that I’m not sure there would any interest or incentive for Zhang to take a rematch. Especially as he’s now positioned to possibly face Usyk, AJ, or Fury for big money. I personally wouldn’t mind a rematch though but Zhang earned a big fight after that performance.

Zhang beats him in a rematch and than Zhang should get a big money fight against Usyk, Joshua, Fury or Wilder. If all these guys won`t duck him.

I think Joyce was shocked that he could be hurt. His punch output in the first two rounds showed that. He **** his pants - which is understandable because he never thought he could be hurt.

A rematch won't necessarily be different, but at least Joyce now knows he can be hurt. He would come in with the plan to be active throughout, push the piece, and hope he can take Zhang into the later rounds.

Well if that's true then he's dumb because he's been stopped and dropped as an amateur, so it's not like he's never experienced it.

Even as a pro, Jennings hurt him to the body.

i do think he bought into the idea he's some terminator though but you're not getting away with having no defence at world level heavyweight boxing.

Joyce has slow hands, which is why he could barely land against Zhang even though Zhang was right in front of him and Joyce has no defense so anybody who throws punches will land them.
            That's true

He clearly can take a shot but I've said many times on here regarding Joyce that boxing history tells us if you can be dropped and stopped in the past, you can be again.

To be fair it did take an injury to do it, but it was caused by a lack of defence anyway. His lack of defence was always getting him stopped one way or another in some fight, it was just a matter of time.

I just rewatched the fight and Joyce got beaten up and schooled.

Stylistically it appears that Zhang is all wrong for him imo.

                Besides, who has Joyce beaten?

i said on here a few days ago that even if Joyce can give good fighters a hard night, all he's fought is a Parker that arguably went 1-1 with a shot Chisora and had a close fight with Fa. And Joyce also beat Dubois who is being dropped by South African cruiserweights. The rest are small heavyweights he could bully like Takam, Jennings etc..or old.

I've always said there's still quite a big gap between who he has fought and the top fighters. Zhang probably bridges that gap and he didn't pass the test.

Stylistically it did seem all wrong for him but then I don't think a 6'6 southpaw that can crack would stylistically be ideal for anyone but the champions would take care of Zhang I'm sure, so maybe that's the true difference.

Id say to joyce, let Zhang beat fury first. Then Zhang will be a gentle giant and give Joyce rematch

He has beaten Parker, that would be Wilder`s best win.

I still think Joyce stops Wilder.

                      Parker is shot

The guy went 1-1 with a shot to bits Chisora really. Had a close fight with Junior Fa, the same guy that got flattened in the first round by Lucas Browne. Prime Parker lost to Whyte and arguably lost to Hughie Fury.

you're criminally over rating Parker, especially a 2022 version.

Joyce could beat Wilder, we don't know how Wilder is after those beatings Fury gave him. All we've seen is one minute v Helenius. He might be shot to bits, we just don't know.

Prime Wilder takes Joyce's head off within 2 rounds. Say what you want about Wilder and his overall skill set but he's extremely good at closing range fast and landing hard and accurate right hands against fighters with limited defence. Joyce has been stopped and dropped more than once as an amateur and was rocked last night.

He would have been target practice for prime Wilder. He wouldn't see the third round.
