Joyce had his eye inspected by the doctor and asked how many fingers he was holding up. Joyce got it right but it was still stopped. Quite surprised myself it was stopped. The eye wasn't completely closed. But it was on the way. Joyce was still able to work with it though.

British boxing really suck. No one can have a war without these idiots pulling the plug.
Can’t call it a gladiator sport if it’s this soft.Comment

Zhang is a vicious puncher, quick and accurate. Joyce wobbled a bit but his chin withstood the punches but his eye couldn't.
Zhang looked like a million bucks against a plodder like Joyce, but his stamina issues were pretty evident, so it might be a different story against a guy who can move.Comment

I just rewatched. Straight before the referee stopped the fight and called the doctor for the second look, Joyce took 3 very strong power punches with Zhang`s left straight on the eye. Joyce didn`t see s.hit.Comment

JJ has been boxing the same way all his career, and he's 37 so I see how he is going to change. If he takes the rematch the outcome might be even worse than this fight. My concern is his health for he is showing signs of brain damage when he talks lately and he got a lot of heavy blows to the head last night.Comment

No that was worse his eye lid could have fallen off this the eye was closed or virtually closed. But what I don't get is Joyce called the number of fingers properly so either he could still see out of the eye or is very good at guessing how many fingers are flashed in front of him. But then again maybe the doctor didn't want anymore damage to the eye regardless of his current ability to see.Comment
