He is a good fighter and very entertaining to watch but he needs to be tested at MW, where he belongs and started his career...no more smaller guys.

PWill has a lot of potential, but peeps either think he sucks because he had a bad night against Quintana or he is this monster one man wrecking crew.

He is someone who no boxer in the WW division wanted to face - soo much that he has to now fight at higher weights just to earn a living.

Mosley wants no part of him ... Cotto won't answer the phone ... Berto look the other way ... Floyd & Al Haymon won't let it happen - Very few want a piece of Williams.

The fight with Quintana is his only scar ... and he cleaned that up nicely.
One thing you have to fault Williams for though is turning down Pavlik at the time he was undefeated before Hopkins beat him. James Kirkland also wanted to fight Paul Williams. I do agree he is avoided by most of the fighters in and around his weight division though. It's just that now that Pavlik has been exposed by Hopkins, the victory over Pavlik gives more room for people to discredit it because of Williams pricing himself out when it was on the table last year. He also almost blew the deal before it was signed by both parties just now by being too demanding with the purse split when Pavlik is the champ and the draw. I'm saying all of this hoping that Williams beats the **** out of Pavlik because I don't like Pavlik anymore. About the only thing Pavlik has done here recently that I respect is being easy to deal with in the negotiations of this fight. But he has had a sorry title run.

Yeah but I think he's just saying usually guys don't get that much credit if they haven't had a marquee fight and someone else talked about the margarito win I think margarito is a B class fighter maybe even a B- and thats not just because of the beating mosely gave him I've always felt that way because everytime you look up he's losing and has only beat cotto and I think we all know thats questionable so I think Williams gets a little bit too much credit as well.he's good but with the one loss and mediocre opponents beat he's not that good

Paul Williams seems to have the tools, but just like Mayweather Jr. he must prove himself. Pavlik got a beating by Hopkins and didn't do that great in his last fight. Paul williams might fight him from a distance with his great work rate. Pavlik must proof he has recoverd physically and mentally from his lost to Hopkins. Or esle I'm not sure what Paul Willliams can prove by beating him.

Why cant some people admit he lost to Quintana, rather than saying he "had a bad night".

True ... he lost to the better man that night. He didn't expect Quintana to use circular movement as much as he did. Up til that fight guys were just flat-footed in front of Paul - because Paul was busy throwing a thousand punches.

... Pavlik has fought very good competition in the last two years since he's had the title. Miranda when he was scary and undefeated, Middleweight champ Taylor x2, and Bernard Hopkins. If there's something to discredit him for it's not his competition.

I consider losing a bad night.
