I wouldn't say that he had a poor performance, he won by a comfortable margin on every judge's scorecard. Just because he didn't get the knock out, doesn't take away from the fact that he improved defensively and with his punch selections. Committing to his punches and switching speeds should be at the top of the list for his next training camp, now that he has something to build on without losing confidence.

They need to think about cashing AJ out sooner rather than later by throwing him to the lions Fury and Wilder for big money. Allowing him to take these tuneups and losing to pedestrians like then sub top 10 Ruiz and Cruiserweight Usyk failed twice and will fail again. AJ was very, very good, but a clear notch below Fury and Wilder in overall abilities. CASH HIM OUT WHILE HE'S STILL A BIG DRAW.

However his confidence is not at the level needed to fight Fury, and Hearn is aware of that. I think it's a mistake for Joshua to wait until December to fight again! He should fight Efe Ajagba, Martin Bakole, or maybe Lenier Pero in August or September.

I agree, the quicker he's back in the ring with a credible opponent, the more that he can improve and build on with Derrick James as his trainer before he faces Fury. If he regains his confidence, with the added improvements from James and his stablemates, he could pull it off. Its not like Fury has looked great after everything the Wilder fights took out of him, thus his reason for fighting nothing but washed up, human punching bags ever since. Tyson might have gave Wilder everything he had left.

He looked same as he has every fight since ruiz 1. Scared to get hit. In Hindsight it’s the same as he’s always boxed. Stiff robotic and amatuerish. He can change trainers and countries and this and that but he’s done at the top level. He should fight Joyce and fury and wilder in huge fights then call it a career. If he can win even 1 I’d be surprised but impressed.

A Ruiz fight would on paper be Fury’s third best resume opponent - far better than punching bag Whyte. But all wrong stylistically. Will look optically like Thunderlips vs Balboa

Joshua has peaked out and is a has been. He is the last to know this. Like others said he needs to cash out and move on. He talks too much as a champ has no killer instinct and doesn't like being hit. This is a bad combination for a championship level boxer. To me Joshua is now an official tomato can and gatekeeper for the heavyweight division. I say they should feed Joshua to Jared Anderson.
