Now TR has no control of the belts if Haney wins and goes back to DAZN which is what he probably does.
It would have been tough to justify Shakur getting a shot before Loma. There was a lot of hype around Haney vs Loma, though I do agree that Loma is on the decline. Shakur hadn't yet fought at 135 when they finalized the fight and Loma is ranked #1 in WBO and WBC.

He’s was a unified champion at 130 though. How many times have we seen a champion from the lower division move up to challenge the reigning champion? So many times we couldn’t begin to count.

Problem is he lost his Belts on the scales, therefore it voids the option to move up and automatically challenge the Champ.

Devin is too clumsy for Shakur. It’ll be a competitive chess fight for sure, but Shakur will systematically dissect him round by round.

Bob said he's interested in resigning him at the haney/Loma press conference.

And Haney has never priced himself out of any fight. So to suggest that sounds haterish.

Haney has showed the sacrifices he's willing to make in order to get the fights he deserves.

Tank vs Haney should be next on showtime ppv. No reason for anything else if they both win their next fight

I think none of them will avoid the fight when it is offered, assuming Haney would still be okay with fighting at 135.

I felt Shakur got the better of that. Good spar though.

I disagree on that. I think the quality of their pro opponents has been overall quite comparable and one could argue it both ways, but whatever disparity there is is negligible regardless.

The real difference maker in experience between the two is Shakur's superior amateur pedigree. It's evident in this spar IMO. They have both developed and improved since then of course so you can't put too much stock in an old spar, but still, if it happens (which I don't think it will) I'd pick Shakur

To show an old sparring session and determine how a fight would go now based on that, is so incorrect. Besides, that sparring match was pretty even.

He priced himself out of a Loma fight years ago and he also priced himself out of a Tank fight back in the Tank vs Barrios times. When Floyd talked about fighters knowing their worth at the press conference it was a direct shot at Haney.
