This is based off a very competitive fight between the two where the deciding factor was an injury.

Anyone else see how odd that is?
It's not that odd because it's not based solely on their head to head fight.

It's based on a combination of factors. One of those factors is undoubtedly that Joyce stopped Dubois, but also that Joyce has looked strong in all his subsequent fights, including the reasonably high level Parker, and Dubois has had more than one injury problem.

Some of it probably is a little bit of bad luck on Dubois' part and some of it is probably drawing conclusions from a small sample, but Joyce has given off an air of invulnerability up to now, whereas Dubois has created the impression of being susceptible to injury.

Well, when Bryan was still WBA regular paper champion, I said he was the guy to fight. I suggested that Wilder - Bryan should have been made.

Dubois and his people did their homework, they understood WBA was the first in rotation and they have chosen the right fight.

I'm a Joe Joyce fan and find it conceivable that he could beat all the current top guys. Let's see it. Usyk could probably win a solid UD but everybody else is at risk of a severe beat down, imo.

I know for a fact you dont actually understand boxing and you make a fool of yourself on here most the time but since you don’t know much let me explain it to you , if anyone’s struggling in fights it’s the other guys not Joshua when fighting legit level guys ,in fact it’s so bad fur yiu you stopped mentioning Fury now and switched to Joyce as if that guy is a threat to Joshua and what fight would show that ? Lol
Well said. Some folks just jump on the bandwagon of the day full of haters. AJ still has the best resume at HW. Usyk has beaten just one quality opponent at HW. Fury and Wilder have been fighting tomato cans and avoid real challenges. Fury ducked AJ and Usyk and Wilder ducked Whyte, AJ and Ruiz.

WSB bouts are not 12 round fights. Joyce overwhelms his opponents with his relentlessness. Only an idiot would expect a rematch to play out the same way

But Fury could have either of those fights RIGHT NOW. Both those guys were giving into most of Fury's demands to get that Fury payday. So if Fury wants an undisputed legacy fight with Usyk or a huge, Soccer-stadium filling fight with Joshua as a retirement check, why did it not happen?

Do not get me wrong, Fury can do what he wants, he has earned it. He is the big name, big ticket fighter in the biggest money making division. I do not fall into this ******ity of he is scared of either one of these guys. It is just the logic here is lost on me. So if it is not one of those two, Joyce is the only name left that makes sense.

I think this goes back to a simple argument myself and a very large part of boxing fandom that cares about this sport have been making for years now:

The sanctioning bodies and their waist trinkets are basically worthless. It is not about which of these shame organizations are first in what rotation to decide who should go first, it is about how they decide who is ranked in their made up world. Of course Joyce should be above DuBois. In all organizations. Joyce proved it. In the ring. But politics rule and as such I do not care. I wish the boxers did not care. But they do, so these crap decisions get money rewards for making this sport a little less important each year.

Side note: Hey Joyce, do not worry about them. Zhang can beat you. Focus on that guy.

Sure he does. After DDD and Hrgovic.

It was no secret that the last WBA mandatory called was Povetkin a long ago. WBA is fist.

Considering the current landscape of the HW division, a win over Parker , especially a STOPPAGE win is very very good and is not delusional any way you slice it. The win does not guarantee anything but it tells me he is no walk in the park for any of the top guys in the division. He is tested and is not overrated.
