Lets be realistic reach is everything

After watching vitali destroy ariola and mayweather embarrass marquez im convinced if you have a significantly bigger reach you have a enormous advantage in a fight. Vitali out jabbed majority of his opponents because of his reach, mayweather makes all boxer with short reach look second rate .eg hatton and now marquez. mike tyson struggled against guys with long reach.
Duran got destroyed by hearns because of his reach. Paul williams is a freak and now no one wants to fight him. Lennox lewis was champ bacause of his reach. Muhammad Ali was the greatest because of his reach.
To me having a reach advantage is more significant than any other advantage in boxing.

No ****, and Vitali and Floyd were probably naturally stronger then their opponents aswell. Not only did they have reach advantage but they were the stronger fighters in the ring probably.

Reach isn't everything. But of course, it helps if you have a longer reach. Unless you're Mike Tyson...

Reach played the biggest weight influence part in the Floyd/JMM fight, easily

BTW I misread the title and was then pleasantly surprised to find this thread was not in fact about Roach

Yeah, reach is really an advantage..

but if you don't how to fully master how to use it, you'll lose.

Remember Ali Funeka? He obviously had longer reach if he knew how to use it better he would kept Campbell at bay the whole night instead of letting him get close and knock him around

Paul Williams doesn't really use his reach. He relies on his workrate and stamina to win fights.

Vitali does that **** all the time to lure his opponents in so he can counter them. And with how far the distance was with his hands down it wasn't like a haymaker would do squat **** because all it would do is hit air.
