Not really the same. I am more of a Cotto fan than a Tito fan. Cotto is actually more popular with the American Puerto Ricans fans than in the Island. Basically because people here in Puerto Rico want him to be charismatic like Tito was and they report everything he does in his personal life so people here judge him to much.

I actually respect Cotto even more because he has stay true to himself and never change how he was even with all that pressure.

Cotto's resume ain't even close to Tito's. Tito's victories over an undefeated Vargas and an undefeated Oscar (controversial as it was), **** on everything Cotto has accomplished. Tito also had his first lost at MW, to the guy with the record for most consecutive defenses at that weight. Cotto had his first lost against a WW with 5 losses who got KTFO in his next fight. Tito also has the record for consecutive WW defenses, with 14 if I'm not mistaken. He also went up in weight to KO beltholders at 154 and 160.

There is no comparison whatsoever between these two, Tito is far superior to Cotto.

I still think Tito's may be better, but if Cotto can get a win over Manny, he may surpass Trinidad's resume

Btw, note i said as a boxer not a person. Cotto seems like a cool guy to hang around with, he's laid back like me. I can get along with him as a person. But as a boxer i dislike him cause his fans are too ignorant and racist. I would like to say only some fans, but it's hard to say this when you have about 3-4 good Cotto fans vs 500 dumb one's.

            Trinidad fans>Cotto fans
If these boards were around back then, Tito's fans would have been annoying as hell too. I was here when he fought Winky and the hype was pretty big then.

Remember Cotto was underdog against Quintana, and now he's underdog against the former Featherweight Manny Pacquiao. While Trinidad was favorite against a top MW Bernard Hopkins.

So think about it, going in fights, how many people gave Tito's opponents a chance to win since he was mostly favored? how you say he fought tougher opposition when Cotto is still being looked down on and coming in as underdog? Doesn't that mean that Cotto is facing more threats?

I know my wording is a bit off but i hope someone understands what i'm trying to ask.

As far as WW goes, I can definitely see Tito having problems with Clottey, but not so much Mosely. He'd probably chop down Quintana like Cotto did, but get outboxed a bit more before doing so.

I can see Cotto beating every guy on Tito's WW resume, even Oscar. I know I'm the minority there. I just think he matches up well. Carr was a boxer, can't see Cotto losing to a guy he can stalk down like that.

Overall Tito does have the edge. His 154 resume is impresive.

Yeah I hear ya but personally I don't put too much stock in pre-fight speculation. What good is it after the fight has actually happened and the intangibles become tangible?

Just means Tito was more highly regarded at the time than Cotto has been

                      Bingo!!!!!!

Trinidad fought tons of Hofers and and 4 ATGs, losign to 2 beating 2.

Cottos resume get better if/when he beats Pacquiao and Floyd grow some balls and fights him.
