Haney is closer to Broner than he is to Mayweather.

I hear you richardt, but my reply to his statement still applies.

Haney has a great jab and one-two combo but he does not have the consistent lead right hand against the southpaw fighter especially a boxing technician. this fight is even and will go the distance

Haney's better than mayweather and he don't run and hug in the fight.

I agree with all the statements in the thread title.

I believe Haney will be too big and young for Lomachenko, but he is no Floyd Mayweather.

At that age Floyd wasn't a complete fighter yet but what he had over Devin is chin and power. Floyd took bombs from legit punchers at 130, 135 and 140 and he never showed any signs of being hurt nor has he ever got on a bike after taking a big punch, Haney is a gen Z kid, they're not built the same. Floyd also could seriously hurt you to the body or head, I don't remember the last time Haney legit hurt anyone.

Still a fan of Haney and have nothing but praise for him, but it's a different world now and people aren't built the same these days.

What does Haney have. Jab and Hug?

That style doesn't beat Loma. Size is not a problem. It didnt help Nakatani. Skills are in Lomas favor. Haney doesn't have much power. Speed is very similar, maybe a small edge to Haney.

This fits the classic “young lion” vs “old lion” type of narrative

And I agree on the size factor as well.

Cards are stacked against Loma, but he has the skill set to pull it off. History generally tells us that the “old lion” loses.

The fight is but a few week's away, we will see then who's analysis was correct. Comparing Nakatani a walk in puncher without much of a defense, to a master boxer like Haney is just a mistake.
