I'd love to see Morrell vs Benavidez, although that would be a big risk for the latter. David has the mandatory, maybe not this year, maybe yes.

If he's confident of beating anyone, then fight Morrell. But for his team, probably would advise against it. Rather wait for a big money Canelo fight.

Morrell is more dangerous for Benavidez than Canelo due to youthfulness, overall talent and great legs meaning he’s not there to be hit continuously and is very agile. Benavidez as great as he is was exposed a bit by Plant who only was a survivor at points.

I'd like to see Bena fighting Morrell and Andrade before Canelo but Bena might just wait for the wbc to order the mandatory fight between him and Canelo. Anyway we know that the wbc would allow to Canelo whatever he wants, if not Canelo could just vacate his wbc smw belt like he did with the wbc mw belt when he had to face GGG as mandatory. Also IF Canelo would beat Bivol then maybe he would want to unify vs Beterbiev ?

Ain't no way Benavidez fights him with the Golden Ticket dangling in front of him.

IMHO Morrell is not ready for the Mexican monster. His trainer has even said as much , respect to him for wanting that smoke though.

I believe that Morrell and Benavidez would be a war of will, and either of the two that wins will be avoided like STDs by Cinnabon.

This is welcome news to me. I checked Boxrec only a couple of days ago and didn’t see an upcoming fight for Morrell. Can’t wait to see how David performs. I’m very high on this kid.

The kid has a champion’s heart. People like that always want to test themselves, and always believe they’ll come through. But I agree with you; Morrell isn’t quite ready. Benavidez is a big step up.

Never know until they step into the ring. It's the right call out, anyways, especially since he, like Benavidez, has a shot at Canelo already that he could wait for. That's a big jump up after 8 fights, but then, Loma was fighting for a belt in his third fight, a world champion after his fourth, and a two division world champion with 3 title defenses of one and one of the second by 8 fights, so if we want unreasonable standards, that's one.
