I think it was more of the unknown, been the first time in a 12 round fight, and at world championship level. Even thought he didn't look lost in the bright lights. It could be that dogboe is not as shot as you think, maybe? He looked stronger and the fights he have loss was again a pretty good fighter himself, I'm not sure but I think it was one division below too. Maybe, just maybe he's stronger at 126. Another thing is, he never stopped trying and when he got hurt, he weathered the storm. And Robeisy went after him, he didn't coasted to a decision and dominated.

I like that Robeisy comes to fight. He’s not a generational talent or anything, just a good, solid fighter. Don’t know how much upside he has at this stage of his boxing life. He’s 29, not a kid. But this isn’t a historic time in his division, so Ramirez probably has a good chance against anyone around. Certainly I’d like to see the fights happen.

That it is one of the lamest excuses I have read/heard. So you're convinced that dogboe loss because he didn't believe in himself, even thought he was outboxed thoroughly and never stopped trying. By the same token, you don't believe in the guy that put up the clinic, a guy whose previous four fights were against two undefeated boxers and the combined record of those four was, get this, 78-3. And you believe the loser is better than he. I'll love to read your reasoning

So why the hard time to get him out of there ?
Yes , he hert often but why not go after him ?
Imo , he knew the W was there and he just rode it out

Honestly, going in, I expected Ramirez to go after Dogboe. He had him hurt in the second, but never again after that. I know Isaac is a tough guy — and that must be remembered — but I’m beginning to question the level of power in Robeisy. I think he’s got respectable power, but clearly nothing extraordinary. He’ll probably depend on an accumulation of punches to take his opponents out. Is that a problem? No, it’s not. We all want to see the top guys stretch out their opponents, but not everyone is capable of that.

Could very well be Robeisy didn’t see the need to take the risk. Dogboe was a live dog (sorry lol). You might be outclassing a guy like that, hurting him; but if you get too crazy, you just might be the guy with your lights put out. It’s quite possible Ramirez felt that increasing the pressure unnecessarily increased the risk. I’m not sure Isaac ever looked hurt enough to be polished off easily.

Of course. It's pretty simple.

Ramirez is a good fighter, but he is not unbeatable. Nor is he this unstoppable KO artist they were trying to depict after the Nova fight.

After having seen Dogboe struggle against Adam Lopez and Joet Gonzalez, the version of him I was expecting for such an important occasion was the one of the Magdaleno fight. A convinced, fierce Dogboe could certainly have beaten Ramirez, who I'm sure doesn't like being under non-stop pressure. Instead, what showed up in the ring was a Dogboe not motivated enough, and psychologically not right.

Ultimately, Ramirez won deservedly, doing the minimum he had to do, against a severely diminished version of Dogboe.

Didn't you hear Barry Hunter's pleas to his fighter during the fight? "Just be Isaac Dogboe!"... That says it all.
