Anything purchased during a marriage is considered shared property.
Neither one ''owns'' it unless there was an agreement of who owns what asset (prenup).
Or is purchased with money from a personal account. Not all monies are shared.
A spouse can have a private account that can't be touched unless that spouse is behind in payments.

They sort it out during the divorce proceedings or come to an agreement before it.
Usually the cheater leaves.
