    I don't think so!!!!!

Look at how much The Roach & Pac talk Mayweather NOW, and they still have a very live Cotto in front of them on Nov.14th.
Yes, Manny can ride off into the sunset without facing Mayweather. Why does Manny need to face the "best" in Mayweather when Mayweather has never faced the best at 140 and 147? Manny doesn't need Floyd to cement his legacy. Manny annihalated Oscar and Hatton. The only thing he needs is a strap at 147. After that it's a wrap. He beats Cotto, he beats a fighter Floyd hasn't faced. He knocks Cotto out (which won't happen), and the argument Floyd is making about getting his damaged scraps won't apply.

Bottom line is I could care less about seeing Floyd fight smaller fighters coming up in weight anymore. Sopcast is my friend when it comes to Mayweather fights. I will NOT pay to see him fight another lightweight moving up. Get some balls and fight someone thats a threat. Manny isn't.

If Mayweather fights the Pac-Cotto winner as his next fight, it would be a big fight; but if instead Mayweather beats Mosley in January, which would make him the lineal and Ring Welterweight champion, and then fights the Pac-Cotto winner for all the Welterweight marbles, it would be a far bigger fight. It would then be the biggest fight since Leonard-Hagler.

And if Pac beats Cotto, he may well decide not to fight Mayweather in any case. Pac-Mayweather would be a very hard fight to make because both fighters are insisting on a 60/40 split in their favour and both are saying they will not accept 50/50 under any circumstances. It could well end up exactly like Jones-Hopkins in 2001. So if Pac beats Cotto he might well fight Mosley next. Mayweather would then have blown not just one megafight, but two.

That is my point. Manny has OPTIONS. Floyd's mouth is limiting his. Floyd is dumping all his eggs in a basket without considering the "Bob Arum Factor". A fight with either Top Rank fighter aint gonna be easy to make because Arum could EASILY pit Cotto against Margarito and keep all the money and let Manny go down in weight. Arum did promise Valero a fight with Manny. So Floyd is writing a check his ass aint gonna be able to cash.

          • Pretty much what Mayweather is going to do is make the same mistake that Mosley did by chasing Pacquiao and his fans won't call bull**** on it. Mosley fans like me were disappointed that he tried to fight Pacquiao and wasted momentum on a fight that was never going to happen. But Mayweather's fans think that it is the right thing for him to do. I've got to give Floyd props for the numbers he put up against JMM, but I wonder how much of that was American PPVs. The live gate was practically all Mexican and the Mexicans probably accounted for at least half of the PPVs. The Cotto-Margarito fight was only marketed to the hardcore Latino fans and it did 400,000-450,000 buys. I'll bet it would've done the same number as Marquez-Mayweather if it had a 24/7. I don't care for Cotto or Margarito either even though I respected Margarito until he got big-headed and undedicated after he beat Cotto.

That is completely untrue due to the fact tht Mayweather wasnt even a welterwieght at tht time and Mosely has been the one chasing him for years. Shane has never ducked a fighter, if u know boxing u would know tht this is another Mayweather excuse not to fight someone who will challenge him, Mosley is a belt holder, ive never heard a fighter being the pound for pound king without a belt, Mayweather needs to start fighting the champions point blank!

I for one am dying to see sugar and PBF get it on! If pbf chooses to take on the cotton/******* first I have no problem with that! I honestly want to see sugar first because that means ill get to see my boy in action sooner!!!

                • Fans fight

Mosley fought slick boxers like Floyd, Winky Wright and Vernon Forrest who would have beaten Floyd too, yes they would have beaten Floyd so for anyone to say Mosley avoided Floyd because he was afraid is nuts, Mosley would give Floyd his toughest fight, Floyd doesn't fancy getting hit with Mosleys body shots, he'd rather take easier options like Pacquiao for more financial gain. Mosley fights for the fans, Mayweather fights for money alone. Carry on Floyd, you no longer interest me, you no longer crave to fight the best.

                  • I think Floyd made a very smart comment there. Roach has already begun to snivel out of the fight as can be read in an other thread, and Floyd has already put Mosley down so...the Pacquiao fight is the only fight that's left or Floyd will just go back into retirement or something.

floyd might go into retirement again because HBO won't let him fight anymore boxers below WW.
