The welterweight fight between Vergil Ortiz Jr. and Eimantas Stanionis, scheduled for April 29 in Arlington, Texas, has been postponed after Ortiz was forced to withdraw due to a recurrence of rhabdomyolysis, Golden Boy Promotions announced on Wednesday.

"Vergil works tirelessly to prepare for his fights and this is of course a huge disappointment for Golden Boy, him and his family," said Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya in a statement. "Despite this setback, I truly believe Vergil remains focused and will accomplish his goal of becoming a world champion this year and going on to become the top welterweight in the division."

Canelo won't face Benavidez until he's out of easier/better options, and until he's about to call it a day.....

Canelo will only face Benavidez if Benavidez is still winning and Canelo is forced into a corner. Benavidez is not an easy fight for Canelo, at all.

I don’t get the duck talk. He already took the harder fight with Bivol at 175. I don’t see anyone at 168 beating him right now.

It's not a harder fight if there is room for an excuse if there is a loss. It would be easier to say, "I lost against a bigger man in a bigger weight class". It's hard to say, "I lost to someone in my same weight class".

Canelo and his team must of seen something they can exploit in Benavidez’s armour
Not sure it’ll happen , I still think Canelo will retire after his 2/3 fight lineup and that would not be a bad thing since we would get the division wide open instead of these fighters putting themselves on hold for a Canelo fight

I think Canelo can beat him as long as he’s doesn’t gas out
Not big on Canelo but Benavidez has shown fugh all
Look at what Plant did in the first half of fight ( take away the clinching ) , if only he had power
